The First Rat To Leave The Sinking Ship!
Seems as if Douglas Feith has seen the writing on the wall in Iraq. He used the standard "personal and family reasons" to slink back into civilian life.

http://truthout.org/docs_05/012805Y.shtml

This guy was one of the main proponents for our adventure in Iraq. Why do think he has chosen now to beat a path outta there? Could it be that he quietly sees the errors of his ways? Perhaps he perceives the inevitable unraveling of his neo-con ideology. Or, closer to the truth, the eventual undoing of everything he worked so hard to put into motion. I mean, '*' is showing signs of real mental illness, Rummy is being assailed at every turn, the Iraqi elections are going to be a joke, and the unvarnished truth about the state of our boys over there is near crises levels. This is only the beginning folks, the first sign of the neo-con doctrine coming apart at the seams.:nopity:

5. I don't think it could possibly be a conscience-driven departure

He was the strong arm at the Pentagon who made sure all the information that came out of the Office of Special Plans was tailor-made to make war on Iraq inevitable.

Feith is probably moving on to feather his nest at a neocon thinktank.

On edit: Damn. Beaten.

7. wish he was leaving sinking ship but...
... these assholes can make more going through the revolving door, back to being lobbyists, defense contractors, and even talk radio hosts.

It would be nice if he ran into some vet who lost an arm or leg who would bitch slap him.
