Dems Bash Bush Social Security plan
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=514&e=4&u=/ap/20050128/ap_on_go_pr_wh/social_security_12

I don't know where you are in your life, but Social Security is pretty important to me at this point. I surely am NOT an advocate of privatizing.

I'd think contacting your Senator at this point re SS would be a very good move. I had planned to include SS along with alternative fuel development/global warming and election reform in one letter, but I'm going to write regarding SS now.

Go Dems!!!

1. C-Span was showing hearings this morning
The panel agreed that SS will be in even worse shape if they go to "private accounts" and held up England's system as an example of the mess that can cause.

2. There is a scandal in the making: internal directives...

A pair of Social Security employees told the Democratic Policy Committee that they objected to internal agency documents that directs employees to talk about the system's problems and the need for reform.

"That is a political message and it's not my job as an agency employee to project a political message," said Debbie Fredericksen, who works in the Minneapolis field office and is a union representative.

3. I agree - contact your Senator/Reps immediately.
I sent in several letters last week.

Ladies and gentlemen, sending in letters/emails is how our Congressmen/women learn about how we feel about issues.

Do it now...

(I am committed to send in at least 3 letters a week)

4. I watched part of the 'event' this morning
Repug Senators and admin officials were invited to attend and refused. Hmmm, the same Repug Senators that meet in secret and exclude Dems? So much for the party of unity.

5. Agreed!
It's the only insurance in our society that's run flawlessly since it's beginnings. It gives Americans security, socially and to strip away is sadistic, especially under the current administration that can not be trusted, as pr oven.

To sell this scheme to the people like it's a sales ad, shows what its' all about. Only a pinhead would go with it. Democrats tried to get Congress to pass Social Security as an enhancement for the future, not shred it to smithereens. Of course, bomb dropping, terrorizing, fear-driven scare-tactics, and complete control for open bond marketing on our future is all they care about.

The Filthy Rich get Wealthier in the Markets and w/fees, opening privatization bonds to the world to buy into our lives - talk about control and evilness, but the worse is to be told it's in a state of "CRISIS" when we're not over 9/11, missing crucial investigative facts, Iraq with it's obvious fraud "sold" to an already terrified nation leads me to firmly believe more people will be standing up and doing something to stop all of this.

Never in all my years ever have I seen such extremist run our country. Never! It's sick! A disgrace to our nation, and each day somethings not looked into re: this Adm we run closer to nuc wars, and the depletion of our society as we know it.

:grr:

6. Actually, Busholini's deceptive propaganda is what was bashed!!!
First of all, Bush hasn't laid a "plan" on the table to bash.

Secondly, all Bush/administration has done is engage in additional taxpayer-funded, government-generated deceptive propaganda USING THE SSA to propagate.

It's disgusting as hell.
