Gannon paid $50 for degree

JEFF GANNON: JOURNALIST OR PARTISAN HACK

Professional Training: An intense two-day seminar, the Broadcast Journalism School... (See Below)

-snip-

Jeff is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University System and holds a Bachelor of Science in Education. He is also a graduate of the Leadership Institute Broadcast School of Journalism.

Sounds impressive. Here is the course description from which he graduated. Looks to me like a friggin two day, $50 seminar and this asshole lists it as one of his major professional accomplishments.

The Broadcast Journalism School is a one-stop, full-service seminar for conservatives who want a career in journalism. You'll learn information you won't receive anywhere else and get personalized advice from our expert faculty:

-snip-

BTW, this is how they promote themselves: “Talon News is your source for unbiased news coverage and no-spin reporting.”

So, this guy has no credentials other than his perverted, right-wing viewpoint yet he is part of the White House press corps and is routinely called upon by Scott McClellan. Bush calls upon him during a “rare” press conference when there are real journalists there with real questions.

This propaganda machine is very, very scary!

1. The Daily Show had a bit on that ridiculous question
The Bush Cabal has gone from paying journalists to just flat out training and placing their own. I'm not surprised, Goebells couldn't have set it up any better himself.

3. This really pisses me OFF!!!
It took me 4 1/2 years, living on welfare, and commuting 4 hours, to take 4 hour classes, raising children, taking more than full time classes, in a rotten wreck of a car, and getting a 3.72 GPA to get my degree. WTF!!! But mine was in Human Services and understanding. ??? I guess he is better qualified than me.:nuke: :grr: :nuke: :grr: :nuke:

4. do NOT click on the link to his site! I made the mistake
not only of giving his disgusting page a hit, but now I'm so angry I feel nauseous. I can't believe such a transparent hack is allowed in the white house... oh yeah... I guess he would feel at home there.

6. And people wonder if the media has been completely co-opted by BushCo.
Can there be any doubt that the largest media corporations in America are COMPLETELY in the BushCo. camp? The facts are overwhelming that Americans are being LIED to like never before in our history by the media. Mussolini had it exactly right when he described fascism as the merging of corporate and state power. We are seeing it in America right now!

$50.00, a two day course and you are assigned as a White House Press Pool reporter!

7. That's the funniest thing I have seen in a while. Two day $50 seminar on

journalism and he calls himself a "graduate" and those are his sole journalism credentials? Also - I have never heard anyone say they were a graduate of the Penn State University SYSTEM. What did he do, take a continuing ed course at a branch campus?

Oh - he does say he has a B.S. in Education - but I still think the "System" part is strange, to say the least. So I wonder if his B.S is from Penn State or somewhere else not as well known? Notice it does not say "graduated with a B.S. in Education from Penn State"
He is trying to mislead for some reason. Someone should check and see whether he actually has a degree from Penn State.
