PNAC posted a new letter to Congress today (Increase US Troops)
Dear God! I LOVE how blunt these bastards are!

http://www.newamericancentury.org/defense-20050128.htm

Dear Senator Frist, Senator Reid, Speaker Hastert, and Representative Pelosi:

The United States military is too small for the responsibilities we are asking it to assume. Those responsibilities are real and important. They are not going away. The United States will not and should not become less engaged in the world in the years to come. But our national security, global peace and stability, and the defense and promotion of freedom in the post-9/11 world require a larger military force than we have today. The administration has unfortunately resisted increasing our ground forces to the size needed to meet today's (and tomorrow's) missions and challenges.

So we write to ask you and your colleagues in the legislative branch to take the steps necessary to increase substantially the size of the active duty Army and Marine Corps. While estimates vary about just how large an increase is required, and Congress will make its own determination as to size and structure, it is our judgment that we should aim for an increase in the active duty Army and Marine Corps, together, of at least 25,000 troops each year over the next several years.

Other notable quotes:

Yet after almost two years in Iraq and almost three years in Afghanistan, it should be evident that our engagement in the greater Middle East is truly, in Condoleezza Rice's term, a "generational commitment."

We do insist that we act responsibly to create the military we need to fight the war on terror and fulfill our other responsibilities around the world.

4. No other way to interpret it
25,000 troops over several years.

The only way to get that many since the Bush supporters are not signing up is to draft them.

6. No, that's 25,000 PER YEAR!
Or in other words, 100,000 new troops before we can throw that miserable fucking monkey out of the White House.

And just what the Hell do they mean by "our other responsibilities around the world.", since it is clear in their wording that such "responsibilities" are seperate from the so called "war on terra"

2. Oh, how precious, that traitor Will Marshall signed another PNAC letter.
Yes, the head of the PPI and one of the leading members of the DLC continues to endorse imperialist, treasonous PNAC policies.

And some still don't get what we have against the DLC leadership. What a country!

3. "Generational commitment" and Condi's job to prepare us for same
just as the CATO folks told us, word for word, when Bush asked for the first $87 billion advance.

Get ready to "democratize the entire Middle East!"

5. Peter Beinart signed it as well
The boy wonder from The New Republic that all the talk shows label as the smart liberal.

7. Beinart is such a jerk
His NR piece was the single stupidest article I've read in years. We should make a trade with the republicans: They can have Beinart and we'll take Brent Scowcroft.

8. That letter sounds like something
that Bill Crystol drafted. Why don't they all just go and kill themselves.
