Place your bets: Voter turnout in Iraq? |
|
As you know Sunday is the day in Iraq. So what is your guess on the voter turnout in Iraq? I say with the threats, and the fatigue of your average Iraqi, I am low balling this and saying:
4500
That's it. Also, Bush, will also be giving his state of the union. I think that he won't have much to talk about either with a low voter turnout. So, what sayeth you in DUville, what do you think the voter turnout will be?

1. I think that CNN will tell me that it was very high, |
|
everyone had a wonderful time, and that democracy was achieved for all Iraqis.
What will actually happen? Who knows. But the one thing that is for sure is that the average American will not hear about it.

2. Like we'll be told the truth |
|
You really think they'll let the actual numbers get out?
I read today that absentee voting in the US is about 10% of what they expected.
My prediction: Fuckface will announce that more than 4,000,000 votes were cast.
Of course, they'll all be cast by Allawi, working overtime, that bitch.

6. I just heard NPR report that there was10% voter registration of expatriates |
|
That seems amazingly low but if you had to get to one of the five voting sites in the US to do it, maybe that is why.
They were at the Maryland voting site and spoke to some people. One man said most Iraqis live in Virginia and he couldn't figure out why they put the voting site in Maryland, instead of VA or DC.
Another man was staring at the indelible ink they put on his finger so they can tell who voted, so they can't vote again. He was thinking how if they do that in Iraqi the insurgents will just go around killing anyone with ink on their finger. They did not say whether or not this practice would also go on in Iraq (that would be idiotic).

Baghdad and Fallujah will probably have an unusually low turnout....but that is where the war is, isn't it?

I don't know why. That's the number that's stuck in my head, and I can't dislodge it.
