One rule of politics that has been pretty consistent until Bush*

That rule is to go to extremes when introducing a bill. What I mean is to ask for the moon and settle for a little less. Every time you introduce a bill it is a given there will be opposition to it. It has been standard procedure that if you want a million dollars for some project ask for five million. That is the way it has always worked. If you plan on introducing a bill that will cut benefits you introduce a draconian measure that no one in their right mind would support so when the opposition whittles it down everyone feels like they got something. Since Bush* took office that rule has gone out the window. They started out doing that but they never encountered any opposition. Take Bush*'s tax cut for example. It was not whittled down one iota and in fact it has been added onto. There is no longer an opposition party except for a few (very few) lone voices who have been completely marginalized. Until an opposition party comes to power they will get everything they have always wished far beyond their fondest dreams. I haven't quite figured out why except fear. Fear of losing their power or fear of receiving anthrax but fear is the only explanation I can come up with. Maybe the Republicans are in fact quite correct when they claim Democrats are nothing but cowards and pacifists. When Dean was running there was some hope because his message was very clear. He was opposed to what Bush* and Cabal were doing. No other candidate clearly put forth that message and the same is true for DNC Chair that is up for grabs. I want opposition to Bush* and I don't see it. I don't like the way things are going or the direction America is headed and I want to see opposition to it. All I see from established Democrats is " we want to hunt down terrorist all over the world too and we want tax cuts too and we must respect a presidents wishes (no matter how ungodly those wishes might be) I want opposition and will only vote for someone who is willing to risk it all by opposing this Cabal. That goes right down to dogcatcher. I will no longer vote by party but by candidate. Well that is my morning rant. Hope you all are digging out of the snow okay.
