I saw on TV and in the newspapers

that the Iraqi people are voting in other countries and in the United States.The Syracuse, NY paper showed voters in Michigan.Are these votes goint to be counted? By whom? Is that what 1400+ servicemen and woman died for? Are these people going to leave these countries and return to Iraq? What's up with that?

2. My thought is that if they choose to vote in the Iraqi elections...

...they should be repatriated. I don't think one should be allowed to vote for a government they won't have to live under.

3. In the US-if your father was born in Iraq-you can vote. They did not say

if your mother was born in the US.
One man on the tube this am. said he was a US citizen but he can vote.

4. Isn't this just like American's living in other countries voting

in US elections. I know they do this by absentee ballot, and these Iraqi's are actually being providing polling places on foreign soil. That's the point that bothers me. I don't think any country should provide voting processes for another country.

5. I've been thinking... you know... the pResidential election is quite a big

deal. Don't you think that voting for the pResident should be given a span of one week to get the voting done... the pResidential vote itself should not be mixed in with dozens of other stinking candidates for this and that office, and that perhaps a turnstyle in the entrance to both voting booths, or in to groups of voting booths, one marked repug and the other marked dem and perhaps a third marked green and or independant.

Now.... if I was in a polling place where I knew virtually NO ONE, I would have no problem with people knowing that I went to the booth that said Dem on it... so.... I mean, "something" has to be done to make our voting system legitimate cuz it certainly is not what it should be right now. Call me simplistic.

At the end of the day, the turnstyle should sharply represent the votes tallied by the Diebold machines.... or so one would think. This inho would be an "hard entrance poll" as opposed to a "soft exit poll".
