Idea: A way to fight the Repukes.
I'm probably not the first guy to think of it but I'm going to post my idea. I say we attack at the repukes constantly by that I mean launch one attack on them and by the time there puppets at fox reply we will be attacking them on something else, don't give them the time to counter attack. And it doesn't have to be all big things just a large number of things, heck the last 4 years of the shrub administration gives us plenty to work with.

2. You make a good point. I'd also suggest that you
muster up all your acting skills to sound morally outraged to the point where your veins stand up on your neck. It freaks (right wing wacko nut cases) them out because they are so used to being the center of *damn! he's nuts!* charade that it will throw them off balance.

Yes, fake moral indignation. We're smart - hell - that's because we're mostly well read and tolerant. Now that the situation's dire let's form a "Animal House" type fraternal relationship among liberals/progressives?

We have the talent to beat the right wing freaks at their own game. Besides, it could be great fun figuratively kicking their a**.

Use intelligent arguments we receive from Randi Rhodes, Al Franken, et. al. BUT add in a healthy dose of expressed moral indignation.

Hey, I've done this with my right wing libertarian family and it's not only great fun, but works at least to shut them up and not DARE raise the particular issue again.

Give it a go? At the very least it should prove cathartic. :hi:

4. Plausibly Strategy the problem is how?
We need to build the conduits to transfer our message. Also, keeping the left on the same page is like herding cats. Your typical person on the left likes to think for themselves and decide their own personal issues. The right depends on the leadership to point out things to be outraged at. IE wedge issues. Fake outrage is easy to manufacture. It only requires simplified lies. True outrage comes from the truth by definition. Truth is most often complicated and can be hard to grasp. So, True outrage is harder to get at.

6. You are making this far TOO complex ...
as our freedoms and job prospects deteriorate, it will be easy to use the KISS (Keep It Simple Somebody) philosophy to all things counter-RW.

You first have to SEE the true enemy (Right Wing Fanatics) and focus in on the glaring violations of humanity.

It's easy if you WANT it to work (the right wing to lose power) so bad that you can feel it in your very being. I'm there and I suspect MANY other Americans will reach this point of motivation in the near future.

Excuse my bluntness but f**k this "herding cats" anology, we can NOT afford to lose ... it's NOT an alternative.

8. There is blunt then their is rude. But to your point.
The left is to quick to eat its own over petty disagreements. For instance Senator Clinton's speech this last week raised the cackles of many a Hard-Core pro-choice-r's. Instead of quietly letting her know their feelings about her speech many YELLED foul. I am going to paraphrase Ronald Reagan. Though shall not speak ill of a fellow Democrat. There are exceptions but we need to follow the same discipline.

5. I'm not so sure...
attacking for attacking's sake isn't likely to be all that productive. It's also a waste of energy that could be spent on trying to effect real change. There is also a risk that it could just degenerate into reciprocal name-calling. I'd like to think we're better than that.

Just my world-weary $0:02.

7. The squeaky wheel concept will not only get us somewhere but it will wrest
Edited on Sat Jan-29-05 06:07 PM by ElectroPrincess
the Media Whores' attention. MSM is primarily a business. They don't give a damn who really wins this power play as long as more and more people tune in. Raise hell with anger and moral indignation and you will be noticed.

10. I agree with the squeaky wheel analogy ElectroPrincess
in principle anyway. I am aware that silence can be misconstrued as acquiesence.

What I was trying to say (badly!) is that there is a risk of the "attacks" becoming little more than tit for tat. I agree that staying dumb is not a good idea though; you are 100% correct on that one. However, there has been an outcry across the US, and, indeed, the rest of the world. Blogs lampooning ** et al are littered all over the net, but what's happened? Zilch.

I'm no politico. However, I feel that meaningful action is more likely to lead to change than decrying the opposition for it's own sake. That's what I was rambling on about.

regards
