Ok, so elections in Iraq aren't until tomorrow. (a few hours from now)
But I sent the following to everyone on my e-mail list;
"Subject; Allawi wins! Yay!
Iyad Allawi has won the Iraqi elections!
Now we have a US friendly regime in Iraq who won't go trading oil for Euros! Our economy is saved! (at least until we have to deal with Iran trading oil for Yuan and Euros...)
Oh, waitaminute... the elections aren't until tomorrow.
Ok, I'll get back to you all then... when we have finished installing a US friendly government.
-G"
So, should we all send this out tonight to gain some credit, or is there something wrong with my assumption?

1. See the Shrub's last interview, where he says he's talked to the |
|
people who will be in power after the election, before he catches himself and says he has no idea who will win.

No shit?
Can we get him to say who they are if we ask him, "and will you be willing to work with Allawi after he's elected?"?
that'd be priceless.

guns is a common way of celebrating in Muslim countries, although aiming is considered in poor taste.

17. I don't think this is a presidential "election." (Allawi not on ballot.) |
|
This election determines who will eventually SELECT an Iraqi president.
In the Iraqi Constitution that Donald Rumsfeld wrote, the president is not elected by the people; he's selected by the elite...JUST LIKE IN THE UNITED STATES.

23. Prime Minister, Pres. and two VPs. |
|
Allawi does have a party that is running among around 110 other parties.
The selection of Prime Minister, Pres. and two VPs. and other cabinet positions will be determined by a three member commitee selcted by the 275 members of an Assembly that is a Coaltion of parties that win this election. I am guessing that this Iraqi Govt. will be modeled after the UK model.

25. At the very least, the Iraqis aren't using the Infamous voting machines... |
|
Can't wait till a few years down the road when they start using them. For now they are using pen and paper (hey, I want that!)....but as of today, they are still unsuspecting and innocent as to what democracy will buy you! Just wait till Deibolt opens a store front over there.
