CNN hyperventilating over elections, looking forward to the violence
They're not only counting down to the polls opening, Carol Lin (sp?) on CNN just said they'll be bringing us LIVE continuing coverage including anything the insurgents might do: "They might strike and they might strike BIG!!"

No I'm not making that up.

Correct me if I heard it wrong.

2. That'll work.
It just gets me how this is being presented as a televised spectator sport in the US.

3. I can forsee a new breed of suicide bombers
at this point I wouldn't put it past some of these souless, ratings-obesessed people to sacrifice a reporter or two on purpose to spice up their ratings, or even some loonies who would agree to stand near a bomb if they only got injured just enough.

Or maybe I've been watching too much Law & Order.

5. Could be
I wonder if Scarborough will have that sense of "let down" kids get the day after Christmas? Election day will come and go, and BushCo still won't achieve Sainthood -- the situation will still be a disaster, and his idols will still have made a huge mistake. What will Scar do?

(Oh that's right. He'll blame every Democrat possible, plus the "librul media.")

4. Look on the bright side
This is absolutely the last thing Bush and the media have left to throw out to the American sheeple. Before this it was wait until we capture Saddam and then it was wait until we hand over power and then it was wait until we have elections. After this turns out to be yet another jerk off exercise in futility, they really won't have any more wait until's left.

6. They've still got some "wait til we capture's"
But yeah, they're simulataneously acting like the election is going to cause the violence to end (and criticizing anybody who says it won't as troop-haters) and yet they're saying, "Of course we can expect the violence to continue" so on Monday they can say, "We knew this would happen. You think we didn't know this would happen? We said it would happen."

8. Bush
better get a real picture on this. The resistance are getting better organized and bigger. The minute they get their hand on some really nasty weapon the US troops there are all sitting ducks.

The longer US stay in Iraq, the worse it become. Wont be long before the resistance get high tech weapon.
