After a few months of reflection, I'm putting my site back up
Edited on Sun Jan-30-05 04:53 AM by phish420
http://bushlies2.us

Ok, Ive had some time to think about things, and I have decided I am going to start a little internet radio station on my old site, bushlies2.us. Right now, I am just playing some audio from some audiobooks and videos I have..but in the coming week or so, I am going to have a live interactive internet station up and running. So for those who enjoyed Bushlies2.us and Bush Lies TV during the election season, I will be back and fiesty as ever, as I have a whole lot of stuff Ive been keeping inside and I am ready to burst. lol. I am tired of the lies, I am tired of the corruption, I am tired of the complaceny. My focus right now is defining those moral values 51% of the country claim is so important. Jim Wallis' book God's Politics has me all fired up now. It's nice to see I'm not the only 'crazy' one out there.
While that is going to be my focus, I will be delving into a lot of things, including various 'conspiracy theories' which I feel are not entirely unbelievable, and some, the theories are backed up by more fact than the official record.
I also want to find that middle ground. What do the two major parties and the independents have in common to where a possible third party, a viable, winnable third party can maybe emerge.
Some points of my site will not be for the hardcore democrat or republican, so be warned. I do not suck up to either party and think they are both corrupt as hell. I do, however, look at the democrats as the MUCH lesser of two evils. I also think I am way to 'liberal' to be fairly considered a democrat. I hope to find other such people to listen to my broadcast at http://bushlies2.us . My email is on the site for those who wish to give comments and suggestions.

1. Sounds like it might be right up my alley.
I am pretty liberal myself and as much as I hate Republicans, I find it hard to love the democrats in general. There are a few democrats I can stand behind but most sadly are too conservative for my tastes.

Anyway good luck.

Plus, democrats are having a problem with boldly tackling difficult issues. I feel this is the weak spot of the DNC. The upcomming oil crisis (end of subrbia is a must see!) is a golden opportunity for dems to take a stand on a very important issue. Since they will not stand up and speak on this issues, I will, and invite everyone to join me in this and other issues.

3. Make sure you pay royalties for the copyright stuff you use.

4. Any info on this?
If anyone can tell me how exactly one pays royalties (especially when the site does not make a profit (in fact I don't sell anything), and is political and even educational)...please let me know. I would think that since there is no money made, and I am showing documentaries for civil education, there should be some discounted licensing program somewhere...trying to find one but cant. Please let me know if you know how to go about this.

It's funny how the recording industry wants us to pay royalties, but they don't get the word out on how exactly to pay for these things. Especially a small operation that has no intention of making money - only to change attitudes.

Any info is appreciated. Please email me at the address on my site. Thanks

7. Thanks...but....
unfortunately, that article seems to only apply to sound recordings...I am showing videos...mostly independent documentaries which I believe may need permission, but not necessarily a royalty (depends on the producer I think)...but I still cant find a royalty payment place for streaming video...oh well...thanks for the help.

8. I don't think there's a compulsory licensing system for visual works the
way there is for sound recordings.

With a visual work you have to ask the copyright owner for permission, and it will be extremely unusual for them not to ask for a royalty.

15. Thanks...good to be back!
btw, anyone familiar with setting up a relay server for shoutcast NSV, feel free to relay my stream to help with balancing the load... I have got a couple emails today saying that the stream was choppy...this is usually from too many people connected to my one single cable modem server...

17. Capping Max Listeners
for the time being, I will have to limit the number of simultaneous listeners to 7 until some people are able to relay the stream. If interested in relaying, visit http://shoutcast.com and download the DNAS server and edit the ini file to relay from http://bushlies.no-ip.org port 8000. Once there are a few relays balancing the load, I can increase it a bit.
While the limit is low, if you are unable to connect, check the status page at http://bushlies.no-ip.org:8000/ and see if the number of listeners is maxed out. If so, wait for a couple minutes (no NOT just hit play over and over real fast)...then try again until you get through. Once connected, you should remain connected until you close your player.

btw, please dont confuse the stream address ( http://bushlies.no-ip.org) with the site address ( http://www.BushLies2.Us ). The site itself is at the latter address...the stream is served from the former.

18. How is the stream on your end (Poll...sort of)
Can everyone that has checked out the site please report how the stream is for you? Please either email me at the address on the site, or reply to this message to let me know... I have been getting very sporadic reports on bad connections (choppy video, etc), but compared to the number of people connecting, it is a very small number of people notifying me about this....just trying to find out if it is a network load issue, or if it is a problem with the connection on the user end (low resources, etc)

Also, I didnt say this before, but I guess it should be stated that if you have dial-up, dont waste your time...you will never see the video with dial up...you must have cable/dsl or better.

Anyways, any feedback on the quality of the streams is greatly appreciated (by quality I mean no skipping or pausing of video - actual 'quality' of video is generally beyond my control). Also, Ivenoticed that some players tend to stop playing after the end of a show. If this happens, just hit play again and it will continue playing...
