1. Bushco and Bushco
You don't really think they'd leave something this important in the hands of the Iraqis do you?

2. This was going to be my question exactly
So far I have seen no information whatsoever about who is going to be counting the votes in Iraq.
Is it the Iraqis themselves, or...
Is it the US troops, or Negroponte's staff?

Does anyone have any real info about this?

5. The International monitors, I heard are in Lebanon, possibly stationed one
inside Iraq. They will only be auditing afterwards.
That shows how legitimate this election is. Again, this is only a "feel good of the few" propaganda effort in my mind.
..and our soldiers are risking their lives...
it is really sad.

6. I don't know and I don't care....But if this candidate doesn't win....
"Abdel-Aziz al-Hakim" of the United Iraqi Alliance, and end up being head of the government, all hell is going to break out among the Shia community.

If he does win look for voices within the new national assembly to immediately call for an American forces withdrawal.

If the Americans refuse to leave look for all hell to break out over that too.

7. The BFEE isn't interested in honest
elections anywhere. In a couple of weeks the chimp will smirkingly announce that a bunch of his stooges have won and have asked the US military to stay on indefinitely in the name of "freedom." What a travesty.

8. Probably Iraqis.
There's a national election set up.

Simple ballot. Just 1-3 things to vote for, depending where you are. Paper all the way.

But I doubt the locations where the ballots are counted will be open to the public; some uninvited guests really are worse than Tatars (no offense to Tatars, just a nice proverb). I'm surprised nobody's sending auditors in to watch.
