Is there any chance that Cheney will seek GOP nomination in '08?
I wish he would. He would be the easiest Republican to beat, imo. I suppose his health would be the overriding issue, but he has served as shadow president for over four years and has had fewer heart attacks than when he was a private citizen. I think being a fascist leader actually invigorates him.

1. no, his heart is too weak
and he'd never win. He is far too much of a curmudgeon. That's why they picked W to act as his front man.

7. The G.O.P. would be stupid to run him
A candidate with such open and well known health concerns.

Say what you like about them, but their strategy and planning has been good. Cheney as presidential candidtae would be idiotic.

2. I think he will
if they can't convince Jeb or some other neo-con to do it. He'll be put on a committee to select someone and end up selecting himself. Does that sound familiar?

3. Whoever replaces him will run in '08
As far as him having fewer heart attacks since when he was a private citizen -- when he was a private citizen, he couldn't control the press (and history itself). If he had one during the first term, I'm sure they'd have shut it up.

Half the time nobody seems to know where he is anyway. It wouldn't be hard for him to spend a few weeks in the hospital without it being reported.

4. PLEASE, Wi Dem!
We're eating a late lunch at my house!

Please confine the appalling and sickening notions of a Cheney run in 08 until well after the late meal after the younguns have gone to bed.

5. I agree that Dick would be easy to beat.
If I ran the GOP -- and forbid it, Almighty God -- I think their best shot for 2008, in order, would be:

Bill Frist -- a.k.a. THE CAT BUTCHER
Chuck Hagel -- smarter than the pack but still a puke
John McCain -- personally likeable but a wacko conservative
Jeb -- a "fixer" Republican hack bizness flunkie

6. Nope
many wanted to dump him from their own ticket as he was seen as a great detraction from Bush.

8. I hope he does, but no. Not photogenic enough.
That implies that Bush is . . . ughh, sorry about that.

11. There's a handful of ultra-cons that covet the WH
I think the guy at the top of the list is John Ashcroft.

Rick Santorum will run if Assclown does not (whether PA successfully expels him from the Senate in two years, or not).

But the freaks aside, look for....

Any number of Puke Governors (Romney, Pataki, and Taft besides Bush) come to mind. They can be more easily sold as 'centrist'.

Senators? McCain and Frist head the list, followed closely by Chuck Hagel. Lugar a remote possibility. But the Senate has not proven to be the right launching pad to the WH for either party for a looooong time.

Condi will be in the mix (but probably wind up as some white guy's VP pick).

Rove already has picked his horse, you can be sure.

It ain't Dick.

14. No, but he'd get a lot of support from the right if he did.
What I wonder is, why is he always shown with his wife in attendance these day?

Personally, I think it will be McCain if his health will allow it. I think it's his turn.

18. He's already the President without the heat.
I can't see it happening. I can see him being co-President with Jeb if they go that way in 08 and he is spared the massive heart attack he deserves.

There's no way the religious right would go for that.

VP, maybe. Commander-in-Chief? Hell, no.
