1. The Iraq "election" was more important for Bush than anyone else
As we know, the Repubs know appearances matter more than anything else, and for the next four years, the phrase "September the 11th" will be replaced by "Freedom and Democracy in Iraq" ad nauseum. Even as blood continues to flow in their streets.

6. You nailed it
It will be like 9/11. Bush invoked it during his campaign and whenever his polls were down. It'll be the same with Iraq and "democracy." :eyes: Remember after 9/11 the week after his raitings were at 90%? I wonder how long it'll last.

9. The images and Kool-Aid coverage are very persuasive --
(Hi, FreedomAngel82 :))

Personally, I would predict that with FAUX and an intimidated/paid off "media" serving this particular Kool-Aid from a bottomless pitcher for the next four years, we can look for Shrub & Co. to gain more mileage out of "Freedom & Democracy in Iraq" than they even got out of "September the 11th."

Not to minimize the experience for the Iraqi people today -- but when I think of the things happening there that the American media is NOT covering, it brings me back into the "reality-based community" and in the real world, this "election," which has no way of being independently verified, is as big a sham as ours was.

12. Yup. Another campaign ready photo-op, like that Olympics commercial that
had everybody weeping with joy.

2. A small bump for a little while, like a mosquito bite.
Then he faces the social security defeat in the Congress, rising health care costs, no significant change in the violence in Mosul, etc., and finally the increasing independence of senators and congresspeople who after all want to get re-elected in two years.

He'd better pop the cork on the champagne quickly because there won't be that much to celebrate next week.

3. Very clever choice. I love it.
"Zombies will make happy noises. Others increasingly won't listen" This is the general trend for * and company. Who cares? Is this worth all those dead and injured and $250 Billion, to date. It's a bad joke. Watch what happens over the next two weeks. Isn't this the country where our opponents execute other Iraqis mid day in the middle of Baghdad streets? Give me a break with fears about * going way up in the polls. Let's get over the defeatism and inevitability theories. The only way this clown got re-elected was by stealing the election.

4. at least a couple
of dime bags worth...he's had that coke habit for awhile, so i guess a dime bump for each nostril.

Cheney will let him party awhile for the nite, slug him out and tuck him in. Since he'll have another raspberry on his nose, i doubt he'll be giving any 'news conferences' tomorrow.

7. When people start asking...
....'If there are no WMD's, the war is over, Saddam's in jail, and the Iraqis had their elections, and Iraq is now a democracy, why are there still 150,000 Americans over there?', it'll get interesting.

The number of sellable reasons for the US presence just shrank by one.

I'm curious to see when they run completely out.

8. Question: What were they up to...
while the world and international press was watching the election?
