A very simple question that Junior will never answer |
|
It appears that that the ticket headed by Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani has a good shot at winning the "election" in Iraq. Although he has favored peaceful means to achieve it, his platform has consistently been that the US must go--that Iraq is a sovereign state under occupation.
Question: If al-Sistani wins, relative peace ensues, and the US is asked to leave--will we?
Maybe the question is moot, because the US won't "let" al-Sistani win. Although I see no scenario where the US will relinquish power in Iraq, I sure would like to see Helen Thomas drop this one on Dubya at a "press conference".

1. Ali al-Sistani is as pro Iranian as they come. |

We will not have a 100 percent pull out for years. There will be American bases in Iraq for decades. We will need a forward base when WWIII starts and IRAQ will be it.
