Was Russert Baiting Kerry Into Making A Statement About Vote Fraud....
when he said that 15 Dem Senators got more votes in their respective states than Kerry? Seems to me that he may have been trying to get Kerry to say something negative about the election.

4. I did see it.
Kerry handled himself very, very well.

Baiting him, yes. About election fraud, I don't think so. Russert is too rightwing to even bring it up.

6. I watched the re-run......Russert can somtimes be such an A$$....
he did lead Kerry on, but Kerry really didn't give him much ground. Russert also went after him on Dean, Kerry told him he could support him for the head of the DNC and that he did an excellant job as Gov. of Vermont. He made the comment also that Dean was not as liberal as the tag placed on him.

7. I thought Russert was baiting him on a lot of issues
but JK handled the interview extremely well. It's a pleasure to hear him speak again.

13. I don't think Russert was baiting him. Thought he gave JK a chance
to defend himself...tell HIS side of many of the "spun" stories from the campaign, like the Swiftboat stuff.

I thought JK hit it right back at him every time! Great interview! (Forgot how blue his eyes were!)

17. Maybe you're right
I don't watch MTP much so I'm not familiar with Russert's interviewing style. I guess he was playing Devil's Advocate maybe? In any event, JK didn't seem to get rattled at all -- no "deer in the headlights" looks for him like some other people we know of, and not a shred of defensiveness. It just breaks my heart to think of what a wonderful president we COULD have had. Grrrrrr...........

2. I didn't see it, but I doubt that was about election fraud.
Sounds like a general criticism of Kerry (though in every election, Senators do better in the state their from than a presidetial candidate from another state).

3. He was probably goading him by pointing out a "failure" to win
IOW, hey, if they voted for a Dem senator, why didn't they cast a vote for you, too?

I didn't watch it (don't have cable), but without the context, it's hard to say what Russert was getting at.

Early on I thought he was a cut above average, but these last couple years he seems to have hit the skids.

14. Kerry did such a good job Faux News panned it tonite..
with good ol' Joe Lieberman agreeing that several of Kerry's comments (re Iraq election) were inappropriate!

Translated: Kerry's the Man! (or "Kerry 1 - Russert 0")

21. What did Lieberman find wrong?
Kerry answer was incredibly thought out and entirely consistent with everything he's said at least since September. He made a point of saying he was for elections, but does Lieberman feel that the election will do more than the turn over of sovereignty?

15. Yeah, but it was worth it THIS time...to see JK's smiling blue eyes
and Integrity-filled face! If you get a chance to watch it in re-run, really is worth the try.

He was quite amused at the thought.

I'm bloody hysterical at the thought. Oh, please. Let this happen. Mwahahaha.

22. I was thinking about an hour interview
and how intelligent, calm and articulate Kerry was.

Then I tried to imagine Bushie in an hour interview. "Well, you know Tim, freedom is on the march, the Iraqis chose freedom, everyone wants freedom, I don't think about bin Laden too much anymore, there is no nuc-u-lar danger with old Soviets nukes, ah, ah, ah, ..." ad nauseum.

God, we do have an idiot as president!
