Latest Numbers in the DNC Chair race (actual voting #'s)
Dean--56
Fowler--21
Frost--5
Rosenberg--3
Webb--3
Roemer--3

As for today's ASDC "endorsement" of Fowler it is worth noting that Fowler got only 8 out of those 19 votes while Dean got 6 which Kos calls a "curious endorsement" since it was so splintered.

By the way, I would probably rate Fowler as my second choice for Chairman. He isn't a bad guy. But I still think the Doctor is the best man for this job.

By the way, Kos says that the endorsements will be coming left and right now--and that Frost is expected to gain ground and it could still be a Dean/Frost race in the end.

2. I think Fowler needs some manners in Dem-to-Dem courtesy

<snip>
"A dent was knocked into the aura of inevitability surrounding Howard Dean's run to be the next Democratic Party chair Sunday afternoon when the executive committee of state party chairs voted to endorse Donnie Fowler rather than Dean. Just last week the former Vermont governor had touted endorsements from some state party leaders. But it was Fowler — bespectacled, Southern, and, at 37, the youngster of the field — who prevailed in Sunday's vote.
...
House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi of California and her counterpart in the Senate, Nevada's Harry Reid, are among those working behind the scenes to drum up anti-Dean sentiment, but other party stalwarts like Harold Ickes are backing the former presidential contender whose candidacy dissolved with a misplayed yowl in Iowa. Now Fowler thinks he has the inside shot to unseat Dean in much the same way that Kerry eclipsed the front-runner in 2004. "Inevitability is dead, just like it died in 2004," said Fowler in an interview."

Fowler can take his snarky attitude and cram it where the sun don't shine.

4. Actually Pelosi and her gals can cram it
Imagine them claiming Dean is too outspoken by positioning this "brash" upstart. And then, there is always Biden, mouthing off the most outrageous crap, but because it mirrors Right-wing reactionary bluster, they send him out again and again.

3. Who votes in this thing?
Isn't it our own electors, the delegates from each state who voted in the primary?
There's a lot of them...

5. This is today's ASDC endorsement vote -- which Dean won
The "endorsement" yesterday was a vote to the ASDC executive committee to recommend the ASDC endorse Fowler, which did not happen.

7. looks good for Dean
if Fowler doesn't get it he still has a good and probably better chance in the future of becoming Chair. until then he can just continue to work within the party in other ways and prove himself to others.

12. my hope is the other candidates all attract those not in favor of Dean
and as they drop out they shift to the guy who is giving him the best run for his money, which so far is Fowler.

10. I think thats incorrect
Those #'s are trhe roll call vote of the ASDC.

The current DNC endorsement count looks like this:

Endorsements
(Public DNC members)

Dean 49
Fowler 9
Frost 15
Roemer 4
Rosenberg 4
Webb 10
Leyland 2

Of course, latest news is that Webb just dropped out of the running, so his 10 supporters could go anywhere...
