Republican lurkers: Proof that your own party thinks you're stupid
Edited on Mon Jan-31-05 06:14 PM by Steve_DeShazer
http://www.rawstory.com/images/pdfs/rawstory_socialsecurity.pdf

From pg. 6.

"Keep the numbers small: Your audience doesn't know how trillions and billions differ. They know these numbers are large, but not how large nor how many billions make make a trillion. Boil numbers down to "your family's share." Also avoid percentages; your audience will try to calculate them in their head - no easy task while listening to a speech - and many will do it incorrectly."

REPUBLICANS THINK YOU ARE STUPID.

Don't prove them right.

7. Bushies COUNT on their supporters being dumb. During the campaign they
kept repeating that baloney about Kerry flipflopping on the 87 billion.

They counted on their audiences' ignorance of the legislative voting process.

Kerry voted FOR a bill WITH accountability to make certain the dollars were going into military armor and military needs.

He voted AGAINST the bill with NO accountability, just Bush/Pentagon discretion.

Now, about that 9 BILLION MISSING DOLLARS.........

Sorry, but Bush supporters ARE dumb. Bush knows it and manipulates the hell out of them. The entire GOP counts on their stupidity. Without it, they would have fewer votes than LaRouche.

30. Exactly
That's all they do is repeat things until it's hammered into people's heads. One Sunday morning at church in the college class one of my best friends asked me who I was voting for. I proudly said Kerry and she was like "he's flipflopper." Of course I defended him and just rolled my eyes. They're all Bush freaks. :eyes:

16. As usual, the Republican Party is dead wrong. Their followers may be
ignorant, but they aren't stupid. They grew up going to crap schools and from their earliest years, have been subjected to a harsh, fundamentalist Christianity. That's a heavy burden for anyone to bear. They deserve our compassion, not our insults. If we Democrats did a better job of fighting for what this country truly needs (instead of almost always drifting to the center in search of corporate money and corporate media "respect"), we'd find a lot of "stupid" Republicans standing with us.

37. ya see? now there's where you're wrong
and right, all at once. No they're not stupid, but what they are is brainwashed into hating the opposition because the opposition rejects the man they adore.
Face it, they voted for Bush again. Cut off their noses in spite of their face. But not because they thought through the issues. Look at what Mark McKinnon told Ron Suskind last year wrt Bush:

''You think he's an idiot, don't you?'' I said, no, I didn't. ''No, you do, all of you do, up and down the West Coast, the East Coast, a few blocks in southern Manhattan called Wall Street. Let me clue you in. We don't care. You see, you're outnumbered 2 to 1 by folks in the big, wide middle of America, busy working people who don't read The New York Times or Washington Post or The L.A. Times. And you know what they like? They like the way he walks and the way he points, the way he exudes confidence. They have faith in him. And when you attack him for his malaprops, his jumbled syntax, it's good for us. Because you know what those folks don't like? They don't like you!''

Karl Rove did his job well, and it is quite brilliant and hardly accidental. He polarized his base by appealing to their primitive reptillian brain, brainwashing them into thinking that intlellectual thought is the work of the enemy, and disguising sound debate and common sense as another intellectual argument designed to make Bush look like a fool. Bush is an ordinary guy, not incredibly educated and hardly sophisticated, and they identify with that. But instead of opposing the democratic platform based on the merits of their alternative, he paints the democratic platform as though it's for the intellectual elitists, a group in which they do not belong. Which is a total lie, of course. The dems have traditionally been for the little guy, the "labor" party, the "we're all in this together" party, wheras the republican platform has completely morphed into the "every man for himself" party. But they don't see it that way. For them, it's the college grads against the common laborer. Anything we say against Bush, his party, his nominees, his policies falls on deaf ears, all they hear is, "You think he's stupid, well we don't like you!"

Insidiousness in the nth degree.

Well we here at Democratic Underground have been saying for some time that the freepers are tools of their right-wing intellectual propaganda masters, who feel like they should have to tell "noble lies" to the freeptards, to get them to do their bidding.

And the freepers feel bad, because they think WE think they're stupid. This, however is nothing compared to how stupid their own whoremasters think they are.

Assuming you are not being sarcastic, that's all you have?

A pathetic attempt at name calling.

Then again, why should I be surprised? When faced with the facts, that's what you people do. Foam at the mouth, name call, and basically shout down the truth, because you can't handle it.

The sad thing is, YOU people are getting screwed with everyone else. Don't you care? Do you people care about ANYTHING? Do you stand for ANYTHING?

I've never seen a bigger group of pansy-ass lemmings--as the Bush followers.

Bush tells them his stance on an issue and they suddenly become vociferous experts--towing the political line for junior.

It's extraordinary how BushCo can recruit so many people to be willing accomplices of their own destruction.

48. Putting it into perspective: "A Billion is One Thousand Million"
http://www.venusproject.com/ecs/a_billion.html

A Billion Is One Thousand Million

To count out one (1,000,000) Million nonstop without sleep or eating it would take two and half (2-1/2) weeks.

To count out one (1,000,000,000) Billion nonstop without sleep or eating it would take thirty-eight and half (38-1/2) years.

Since a Billion is a difficult number to comprehend, so I thought putting that figure into perspective in one of its releases:

A Billion (1,000,000,000) Seconds Ago - It Was 1959.

A Billion Three Hundred Million (1,314,000,000) Minutes Ago Persian Emperor Kourosh The Great, Wrote The First Charter Of Human Rights 2500 Years Ago.

A Billion (1,000,000,000) Hours Ago - Our Ancestors Were Living In The Stone Age.

A Billion (1,000,000,000) Dollars Ago - Was Only 8 Hours & 20 Minutes, At The Rate Washington Spends Our Money.

A Trillion (1,000,000,000,000) is one thousand billion.

______________

Mind boggling!
