Missouri voters will be courted after Gephardt

Reporters swarmed like bees Tuesday around Missouri Democratic Party chairwoman May Scheve, briefly ignoring the man a few feet away who was about to announce that he was no longer running for president.

Rep. Richard A. Gephardt's departure was old news.

The hot new angle: Who was Scheve going to support now in Missouri's Feb. 3 presidential primary?

"I have no idea," said Scheve, teary-eyed as she watched Gephardt formally withdraw after coming in fourth in Monday's Iowa caucus. "I'm just devastated right now."
