-snip-

"I'm for Dean getting the nomination because it would trigger a resounding vote of confidence in President Bush."

2. Don't Play Poker with Bill Safire
This in #3 in my series of warnings about people you should not play poker with, and the reason is the same. Don't play poker with Bill Safire, he keeps showing his cards and losing. It makes you feel guilty about taking his money.

Beware of advice given by Bill Safire, Karl Rove or Dick Cheney. It seems unlikely that they're as concerned for the truth as they pretend.

3. I heard Trent Lott
say the same thing last night on Bill O'Reilly. He said the WH really wants to go up against Dean. O'Reilly actually said..."I don't want Dean, I would rather have a candidate who is a good match up in the race." :wow: ....in rebuttal to Lott's statement.

I heard Safire say...TWICE....on MTP roundtable, that he wants Dean to win.

4. Safire is a prick. I saw him on MTP a couple weeks ago and he was
saying he wished the democratic party would just shrivel up and die. He wants a one party nation with the republicans as the one party. He did say he wanted Dean to win the nomination because would lose to the chimp.

11. ????
Bill Safire said that? Do you have a quote? Link? Safire is NOT a neocon. He opposed the Iraq war and stands up for Palestinian autonomy.

5. Try going back through his columns
during the Clinton years and see how many of his so called "predictions" actually were correct. I will save you the trouble if you are busy. The answer is almost none. One famous one that springs to mind is his prediction that Hillary was about to be indicted over whitewater.

7. But wait a minute...
when Dean was up, the repugs said they wanted Dean and it was some plot to funnel cash and supporters to him to subvert the process....

Now that he is not the front runner, what does wanting Dean mean?

Their support now would be the kiss of death...so why would they try and kill off a candidate they want?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm............wonder what the group who thought the repugs really want Dean will make of this!

9. It makes sense
I wouldn't be surprised if some of those REPUBLICAN LEANING INDEPENDENTS IN NEW HAMPSHIRE who voted for Bush in 2000, and are allowed to vote in the NH Primary because they are registered as independents, will choose to vote for Dean in the NH Primary, because that is what the GOP wants them to do...
