Election scoreboard - Media 20 , Dean 10, People 10 (pro Dean) |
|
Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 02:39 PM by cthrumatrix
When will people get it...when Dean wins...the people win.
Dean was right and spoke out on Iraq.
Dean spoke out on No Child Left Behind ..and has an education record
Dean Balances Budget as a 5 time elected Gov. ....which is soo needed.
Dean Implemented Health Care in Vermont, that the US wish it had for all.
Dean has energized the democratic base which is required to defeat Bush
Dean speaks for the people. And the last time I looked...they are pretty pissed at the way this country is run by corporations that ship jobs overseas, media that can't hold this admin accountable to any hard questions and crooked politicians lining their pockets with these insane bills (Medicare reform being a prime example.

1. We've talked about those things endlessly here. I saw Iowa caucus gowers |
|
talk about those things.
Amazingly, Iowa caucus goers felt the same way I felt about most of those issues, and I guarantee you that I am not influenced by the media.

4. Dean campaigned on Iraq...that was his mistake (IMHO) |
|
You are seeing a change....his CSPAN speech yesterday was excellent w/o Iraq...press conference tried to rope him in...he stayed positive

2. People could win IF Dean wins |
|
That's the problem: people doubt he can. I am not going to defend any view. The choice is not "Dean vs empty office". And, for example, while I am outraged by our Iraq foray, the majority of the country supported (and supports) it.
The problems of this country are much, much deeper.

8. wher were the complaits then? |
|
Dean was on Time's cover twice. Or Newsweek or whatever. No bitching then. Alot of serious circle jerking tho. if dean can get some votes i will listen. Thus far i am not impressed and I remain uncomitted.

10. The More I Consider the Possibility of a Dean Loss |
|
the more I realize how much the other candidates are insiders.
Maybe that's unfair. Clark, Kerry, and Edwards would all be decent presidents. But they owe their political souls to the establishment.
It really bothers me that the other major candidates are NOT angry. That makes it difficult to campaign against Bush and lead the country in a different direction.
