There's still at least another year of occupation before even a government is created, but we are supposed to celebrate "sovereignty". These facts are conveniently not mentioned.

I'm not overly concerned even the clerical party wins. It's going to be a fairly Muslim-friendly state.
The questions they're giving the right answers to--or lipservice at least--are how well they'll play with others. Whether Sunni or Xian (etc.), Arab or Kurd. Do they realize that democracies are inherently evil unless they're tempered by respect for minorities?
We'll see. But we always knew that we'd have to wait.
