3. Theory: An organized effort to demoralize so W gets his SS Phase Out. |
|
Seems to me that this next couple of months is crucial to the Bush admin. He's just given the SOTU is about to hit the road to sell his Social Security Phase Out.
If Shrub gets this thru then they will decide they can do anything: tax regression, end employee health insurance, end the consumers right to sue the corporate whores, etc.
It's sort of like when Bush first passed his tax cut acting like he had a mandate, but then Jeffords crossed the aisle, but then 911 remandated Shrub.
Meanwhile...
Gonzales barely got by (and lets face it, he wouldn't have been okayed except that he's Hispanic - he's the new Clarence Thomas - fear of appearing prejudiced is all that stood between him and rejection) and Harry Reid has said that Bush's Social Security Privitization is dead in the water.
Howard Dean is about to become the head of the DNC and while the Right loves to label him as a loose cannon - at least some of his cannons hit their target.
And DU is google bombing Social Security so everyone knows there is no crisis. 40million people w/o health care - that's a crisis.
So now is the big push for Bush's Social Security Phase Out. It's now or never for the Republicans. If the Democrats can stop Social Security Privitization then it's FOUR YEARS OF LAME DUCK.
