More revelations about Kerry Campaign Skullduggery
Recording Reveals Kerry Operative Dissing Dean in Campaign Call...

But the Dean campaign said it was under the impression that the call did not represent just one over-zealous volunteer speaking extemporaneously. Rather, the campaign said in the last day it had heard of Kerry campaign calls to at least five other Iowans reading from what it said sounded like a very similar script.

Dean campaign spokesman Jay Carson slammed Kerry for claiming to run a positive campaign while letting others do his dirty work.

A third Iowan, Dick Alexander, told ABCNEWS he received a phone call about two weeks ago from an organization claiming to be a polling firm unaffiliated with any candidate, in which pro-Kerry and anti-Dean information was conveyed.

From ABC News

This story seems to have legs.

3. He used push polling to call Dean
a wife-beating abortionist. I should add that there is nothing wrong with doctors performing abortions; just Democrats using the term prejorativly.

I hope this story has legs and I hope those legs walk right up to Kerry and kick him in the ass.

38. I heard that too
and that it was done in a way that implied it would be bad to have a Jewish first lady. I certainly hope that no Democrat would use such an antisemetic attack against a candidate's wife. This is the story I've heard going around that I REALLY want answers for. If any campaign was pulling that kind of shit they should be kicked out of the race, in my opinion.

wouldnt you like to see the evidence....

After all, they actually have it on film...

19. Sorry. Kerry's internal polls showed he KNEW he was ahead.
He didn't have to pull any stunts like this. The Dean camp also knew things were going south. What tricks do you suppose they would play against the Kerry camp to make news?

10. This is old news
And in the same article the Kerry campaign responds, how clever of you to leave it out :eyes:

The Kerry campaign's response was swift.

"The person who made the call is a young volunteer whose remarks were not authorized or condoned by this campaign," Kerry campaign manager Mary Beth Cahill said in a statement. "It's a terrible mistake for a young person to make, and he is apologizing to the person he called. While we appreciate his support, we have asked him to leave the campaign."

I'm really sorry your guy didn't do better in Iowa, but that's no reason to bring up an article that is old and has already been debated on this board. Next you'll be starting a "Kerry is an evil skulls and bones member" thread.

Far from having legs, this story is an amputee.

42. Well, It's Definitely Old News
But it's also still fair game, as is obvious from the fact that ancient attacks are recycled here against every candidate, time and time again. It's part of the nature of an Internet forum, especially one that places so much weight on "gotcha" politics.

(And I'm certainly not claiming to be immune from that.)

26. Oh No!
Somebody's accused of pulling a dirty trick in a campaign!

Shocked! Shocked that such a thing could happen. Dirty tricks in a campaign are not nice. Nope, not nice at all, and if somebody does that, they're not a nice person. Nosirree!

And I've NEVER, ever, heard of anyone ever stooping so low as a <gasp> PUSH POLL! What fresh hell or horror will they think of next? It's just too monstrous to contemplate.

The world is undoubtedly coming to an end. We should all just kill ourselves now so we won't have to see it.

43. Well, gee...
can't think of anyone who actually advocates dirty tricks, but if we were to eliminate every candidate who has someone here or there who pulled one, who would we have left?

T'aint Nixon's Plumbers or voting machines in the Chicago river we're dealing with here.

Push polls suck, but aren't the end of the world. Every so often some asshole tries something like that, and it usually backfires.

Gotta keep perspective.

39. There is a point to the initial post here..
The point is.. that a woman, who happened to be on film for a documentary, received a push-poll call from a Kerry volunteer or employee. One of the terms he used was "environmental racist". She was so alarmed by the call, that she wrote down every thing that person said, and asked to speak to his supervisor. The camera crew recorded her side of the exchange. The Kerry people said it was an isolated incident of an overzealous volunteer. But.. the point is that the same script was carried out to at least 5 other voters that came forward. If this was something that someone just made up on the spot, why did it continue? That's the point. I don't expect everyone to believe the story, as they support candidates that are running against Dean. But.. I find it sad how many people will jump against Dean, time and again, rather than admit this could and did happen.
