Conan, Leno blast Dean
Did anyone see Jay Leno or Conan O'Brien last night? Jay says, "Wow, what was with Howard Dean? Did you see that? I think it's a bad sign when your speech ends with your campaign manager shooting you in the neck with a tranquilizer dart. Here he is landing in New Hampshire..." and they show someone dressed as Hannibal Lechter being carted off an airplane.

Then Conan O'Brien does his talking TV set thing. "Joining us now, Howard Dean..." "HELLLLOOOOO, CONAAAAN! AND MICHIGAN! AND NEVADA! AND MISSOURRRRII!" Later Conan is talking to Martha Stewart, who's become demon-possessed and is surrounded by flames and refuses to leave the set. "Oh, Martha, do you expect that to scare me?" Conan laughs. Then Martha says something like, "No, but I expect this will..." and Dean returns, this time foaming at the mouth.

Uh...well, they bash Rush Limbaugh, too, and he's still on the air (for now). Maybe it's not if they mock you, it's if you let it affect you. Thoughts?

2. Conan goes for a laugh, Leno's a whore.
That's what I think, anyway. Besides, a nice redheaded Irish BAHston boy is NOT a Republican. Ever.

Later.

4. I think their humor is apolitical
They just take advantage of the day's news and editorials to get a laugh. If they never told Bush jokes, then I'd have a problem with them.

6. Check Leno's Bush jokes for sharpness and number - Jay is a whore
Leno does not hide the fact that he is GOP.

7. Unfortunately, It's Jon Stewart, Too
His line was: We never know when we're going to see the Smeagul Dean or the Gollum Dean. Not a very helpful meme there.

Yup, Dean has his work cut out for him if he wants to stay in the race. And giving somber policy speeches is not enough.
