Does Edwards put trade ahead of secuirty?
Edwards voted to table an amendment that would require sanctions against China or other countries if they were found to be selling illicit weapons of mass destruction.

2. Talking points?
Man, you have started threads on

"Is Edwards for renewable energy?" Answer: Yes.

"Is Edwards for the little guy?" Answer: Yes.

In both of those threads you were shot down when the facts came out. What gives with your fear and misinformation about Edwards? Focus on the positive with your guy!!

Negative doesn't work. Didn't some of us just find that out?

3. you can't santion china, they're too vital to our economy
Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 06:02 PM by jenk
we're too buddy-buddy with china

I don't think any attempt to dig up dirt on edwards will work, I'm sure the Dean crew tried to tar him with this stuff in Iowa. Edwards still destroyed him in the caucus.

6. So did Kerry...
...Since you didn't find one where Kerry could be separated out, I hope this means you're running out of ammo.

Anyways, here's John Edwards on security:

As a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, John Edwards has been a leading voice to make America more secure. He has helped pass a $4.6 billion bioterrorism bill to help localities and cities respond to an attack. John Edwards worked to strengthen security at our ports and supported to protect our nation’s computer system. And John Edwards fought to help pass $3.5 billion in direct funding for our local cities and towns to they would finally receive the resources they needed to protect Americans.

And John Edwards on trade:

Free trade has to be fair trade. As president, Edwards will be a tough negotiator on trade, and will only negotiate trade Agreements that meet these basic principles:
Agreements should be fair and enforceable.
Agreements should have strong labor and environmental protections.
Agreements should have real, tangible benefits for U.S. businesses and U.S. workers.
Both sides should give up something, not just America.

11. Yes - more mischaracterization
If you do a little research, you'll see that all the other allegations in the last few hours that were lobbed by that poster were shot down when the facts came out.

9. But he's "positive", and good looking, and a millworkers son!
How dare you question something such as his record in Congress!

10. Once again you might want to
look this bill up on thomas.loc.gov and read the history. The amendment (proposed by Republican Senator Thompson) would have effectively stopped ongoing negotiations with China over arms limitations. Substantial progress in this area was made under the Clinton administration but Thompson (now an actor on TV) wanted a hard-line approach (sound familiar?). Those voting with Edwards were: Biden, Cleland, Dodd, Dorgan, Kennedy, Kerrey, Kerry, Leahy, Levin, Moynihan, Boxer and Feinstein
