I think it's good for Dean if commedians make fun of him
Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 06:20 PM by Dancing_Dave
I don't think that well-known politicans are hurt by commedians taking some cheap-shots at them. It pretty much comes with the territory. The chuckle-heads had a field day with Bill Clinton, but it never hurt Mr. Bill's popularity!

AT this point, comics making fun Dean is a good sign for him. It means that he is starting to become a well-known personality to the general public.

Michael Moore really is a problem for pResident Bush, but he's doing a lot of stuff way beyond people who starting to crack some Dean jokes. Moore is a versatile and thoughtful writer who can do tragedy as well as commedy. He also is a real researcher and teacher who puts lots of fresh information into his books and movies that his millions of fans don't already know about. Much of this information is damaging to Bush--and if enough of the hidden truth gets out, Bush and his gang will be out for sure! Most radio and TV comics just play off what their audience is already aware of -- and what they THINK they know. Moore is much more of a real consciousness-raisin' WRITER. No one like him is taking time to research and reflect on Dean in order to prick the propaganda bubble.

1. Well, it didn't hurt Clinton --
And, alas, it has not hurt Bush.

2. And it's just too bad the comics are goin' for Dennis Kucinich more
Like lots of MUSICIANS from Willie Nelson to the hip-hop Congress, I support Kucinich...it's to bad that he still isn't a well-known enough public figure for the comics to be after him.

4. Any contender for the Presidency has to get used to it.
Since the earliest days of our country, political leaders have been fodder for satire. It wouldn't stop with Presidents Dean, Kerry, Clark, Edwards, Lieberman, Kucinich, or Sharpton.

Presidents don't necessarily have to like it, but they have to be "good-natured" about it. I think our candidates do a pretty good job of that.

5. I agree
I'm not certain the scream media really hurts Dean all that much. And as for pundits saying he is done, I don't think the pundits generally know what they are talking about.
