What is Edward's military/draft record?
He didn't have connections so what happened, did he just luck into a high number?

2. He lucked out by being about a year too young, and had a draft number of
178. Nixon ended the draft before his number/year came up. This is from memory of a post from an earlier thread on this.

3. If one does the math....he was eligible.
The draft ended in 1973 with the end of the Viet Nam War. Edwards is 50-51. he probably graduated in 1971.....He was old enought....

5. He got lucky.
He could've been drafted but his number didn't come up before they ended the draft.

6. I am nearly his age and remember it vividly. None of my friends born in
that year was drafted; several the year before and older were. Things were winding down. So that is why I say it is a combination of year and draft number.
