Are Dean supporters insulted by Mike Moore spam letter?
Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 06:46 PM by liberalnurse
The Mike Moore letter has been posted every few hours. I sense it is manipulative and insulting to the Dean supporters. I believe the intent is equally robust in its attempt to steer Dean supporters into the Clark camp.

The repetitive posting is significant in support of my theory.

Okay...we get your point.....I am not interested in the Clark switch. It feels deceptive.

1. Yeah
It mirrors what I said last night. Dean is the savior of the Democrats and what does he get for it? 18% at the Iowa caucus.

11. Please explain.
"Dean is the savior of the Democrats." I have been a Democrat for 33 years and do not in any way percieve Dr. Dean as a savior. Indeed, the party seems to be quite healthy. Witness all the dialogue here for instance, and all the turn-out in Iowa for another. Yes, Democrats have dropped the ball in the past. Yes they should have fought harder on things that matter to all of us. That does not translate into the death of the party without Dr. Dean to show us the way. Some of us, nay, many of us just don't like Dr. Dean. Period. That is our right as freethinking people. Please do not foist your prejudice on us, nor denigrate us for disagreeing with you.

Woof

2. Michael Moore is a self promoting ass
But I am looking forward to his next movie. He's recent book was kinda boring. I got a much bigger kick reading Franken's book.

Clark will probably keep his distance from Moore.

3. Why don't you just ignore the threads?
Geez, if you don't want to read them, don't!

Posting the letter a few times is no worse than people posting "Clark is a Republican" or "Kerry is an evil Skull & Bones guy" 500 times, is it?

4. Pisses me off.
If the Clark folks want my vote, that is NOT the way to go about getting it; in fact, it's having the opposite effect. :grr:

Clark does. and all the Anti Clark threads the same can be said "in fact, it's having the opposite effect. :grr:".

8. Gracious?
Rather like suggesting that the husband of a cancer patient start dating again, before the wife becomes terminally ill. It was insulting as hell, Dookus!

9. You find this insulting?
"As one who does not support Dean, I would like to say this to you: DON'T GIVE UP. You have done an incredible thing. You inspired an entire nation to stand up to George W. Bush. Your impact on this election will be felt for years to come. Every bit of energy you put into Dr. Dean's candidacy was -- and is -- worth it. He took on Bush when others wouldn't. He put corporate America on notice that he is coming after them. And he called the Democrats out for what they truly are: a bunch of spineless, wishy-washy appeasers who have sold out the working people of America. Everyone in every campaign owes you and your candidate a huge debt of thanks."

I found the 'but if you're wavering' (not exact language) bullshit insulting. How presumptuous! Trolling is tasteless, even if mike Moore's doing it for your candidate. :grr:

There's just no winning.

I've never seen a group of people MORE willing to go out of their way to find an insult where none was intended.

14. So be it.
Then perhaps mr. Moore should quit trolling, or at least improve his timing. Put yourself in OUR shoes, for a change; how would YOU feel today if Al Gore sent YOU a ltter like that 2 days after a humiliatting loss? Ever consider that?

6. Mike Moore can't win, Vote Nader BAD! Vote Clark BAD!
Michael Moore is a smart guy and a clever filmmaker that is one of us, and got rich doing it. Good for him. He got all sorts of shit for supporting Nader - even though he tried to get Nader to only run in safe districts, and told people in Florida that if he was in a swing state, he'd vote Gore. Democrats trash him.

So, he decides to get behind a "moderate" "centrist" Democrat, he's Anybody But Bush, and he gets trashed for that. There's just no pleasing some people.

The guy begins it all gracious like, and then pulls out the Dean dissing and Clark baiting. I like Clark. I just don't think Michael Moore is helping him, or any of us.

23. Again, I ask - how is this any worse than posting "Kerry is an evil...
Skull & Bones guy" or "Clark is a Republican" 500 times?

Do your standards of manipulation and spamming apply to those topics, as well?

25. What's the difference? Posting that Kerry is the same person as Bush
solely based on the completely irrelevant fact that they were both Skull & Bones members, and then reposting that same tripe numerous times in numerous threads, is no better than what the original poster is complaining about.

Same thing with "Clark is a Republican."

In fact, both of those examples are worse than this complaint about the "troll" letter because at least the troll letter is a point of reference!

26. We need to get past the 3rd-grade mentality.
"He hit me!"... "No, he hit me FIRST!"... etc. . My initial point that the letter was in poor taste remains.

27. Review some of the Kerry Skull & Bones posts from today, and perhaps
you'll see why I find this so hypocritical.
