6. They need to get heat not just for that;
they need to get heat if they dare to not support impeachment proceedings against this monster!

7. I say that all of this will fade a bit
now that the concept of a "national crisis" has been spread.
You are correct. Too many elections coming up.

15. What about Liberman and Clinton?
I know they aren't as hard core as some democrats so I'm wondering about them.

4. I think Reid said that, too....
...hey, Charlie, I want to support you and I will, on most issues, but would you quit with the draft bill, already? If I were terribly afraid of being murdered, I wouldn't go and commit suicide, just so I could say, "There--now I can't be murdered!"

13. There's a reason he's been doing that
It will be good political fodder later if the GOP tries to introduce a draft bill. He's voted against it each time he's introduced it, but he has the pukes on record for opposing it so far. It will make good ammo if they try to push it.

14. Are you saying that he's pushing it
as a clever trick to ensure that there ISN'T a draft? I could go for that.

I mean, suppose a democrat like Rangel puts out a draft bill, and it gets passed. Then suppose a few "fortunate sons" get drafted and die, and a whole lot of less fortunate sons (such as OUR children) also incidentally get drafted and die. Then suppose the republicans are blamed, and are made to appear as the turds they are--and suppose that droves of average citizen republicans start leaving the party.

That's all well and good, but... if my children die during the midst of this successful political ploy, it won't be worth it to me!

8. So why are some Dems meeting secretly with

Graham (SC) and other Repukes. I heard that they changed meeting rooms each time to remain undiscovered but obviously it's not a well kept secret. Then the Dem (can't remember his name) who was on with Stephanopolous was making sounds of agreeing with Repuke points like using that other index that robs us and a few other points, stopping short of privatization but that's just a maybe. He never brought up the tax cut or the other tax cuts that just went into effect and reported by Krugman. Never said, as he should have, that social security would be easily shored up by repealing the tax cut for the 1% of the wealthiest to benefit the other 99%.

I'm so sick of this. Dems are being bought off obviously and the Dem party better let them know that all party support will be pulled. I think in cases as important as SS we should be more like Rove and get the dirt on them for leverage.

Did I say I'm so sick of this?? This guy is the 4th Dem that looks like he may make a deal to sell us down the river.

Edited for typo but probably missed some others.

We'll give you this, you give us that. Where's the principle?

12. Wage to CPI was NOT endorsed - a lower CPI after retirement was put
on the table by the Dem - not a really big deal.
