Harball's Thursday show...what a joke! He's such a media whore.
from msnbc.com:
Thursday, 7 p.m. ET
Is CBS news sacrificing journalistic standards for ratings? Former CBS insider Tom Fenton takes you behind the scenes of the CBS news division to see why "he says" the tiffany network has become bad news.

HUH?? And Right Wingers like AIM (Accuracy In the Media) actually call him LIBERAL!! With Liberals like Matthews, who needs conservatives?? This guy's shows follow GOP Talking Points more and more in recent months (years?!?). Is he afraid to attack mighty Fox for fear of being the new target of the right-wing media 24 news-frenzy until Easter (with sporadic shots from then until July 4th)?!?!?

I'm not sure if it's about the news or TV shows or both. But I'll say that their half hour newscast is hardly a juicy topic nor are the few news shows.

Fox/News Corp. is the KING of Junk for a Buck. Gimme a break, Chris!!

1. During the campaign, I never missed 'Hardball'...
since November 2, I haven't watched it once, and it shows in his current ratings. I think he's getting less than 200,000 viewers per show now. :D

5. How could you stand it?
Matthews flipped back & forth during the race. Never knew if he was going to be Rove's mouthpiece or sound like a simply confused man. I watched him about 10 times. One day it seemed like he'd finally broken through then the next PFFT. It was like he'd had a little talkin' to before the show. He is totally incosistent. Gave up on him @August.

7. This little tidbit in the Hardball E-Mail
really ticked me off. Calling Senator Robert Byrd "Bobby". What disrespect!!!

"We finish up with Deb Saunders from the San Francisco Chronicle and Pacifica Radio's Amy Goodman about the Bobby Byrd/Nazi controversy, the politics of social security and whether the state should put juveniles to death..."

Tweety can kiss my ass.

9. As PT Barnum said -------
There's a sucker born every minute. Due to the population explosion there's more than one each minute. Enough to keep crap like Fox & MSNBC afloat.
I don't know how Olberman can stand it at MSNBC.

Tweety's true colors have been in full palate lately, and they clash so badly I can't look at them.

Edited for misspelling

10. I hate this 10 commanments shit..we should all email....
...that this nation was not founded on Christian principles but on the ideals of the enlightenment. The Founders weren't even friggin CHRISTIAN. They were deists. Adams even stated inthe treaty of Tripoli that this was not a Christian based nation. This fundamental misinformation and propoganda is a disgrace!

16. There is a LOT of misinformation spinning around this country alright...
The Adams family was Puritan BTW--Jefferson was a Deist, Washington was a Mason, it turns out. Hamilton was a banker with a monarchian twist. Ben Franklin was a true renaissance Enlightenment guy, with a still healthy respect for the mostly Christian culture which surrounded them at the time.

What the Constitution says is that Congress shall make no law establishing a state religion, ie, we would not be like England, with the Crown and the Church entwined.

This DOES NOT mean that we cannot acknowledge that the majority of the people in this country are culturally Christian with many still practicing the faith.

Yes, there is a healthy minority grown up, not only in the Democratic party as the Repubs like to charge, that has become "secularized." But I do think that the real energy behind throwing God out of our culture is the Bohemian Grove Owl worshipping pedophile Republicans who are also Masons. Be careful that you are not being manipulated by them.

Do we really want a society where Money and Power rule with no remaining moral restraints? I found the 10 Commandments very helpful on my banner for the peace marches before the war: "Thou SHALT NOT KILL, Mr. Bush! Thou SHALT NOT STEAL Iraq's oil! Thou SHALT NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS to the American people!"

These commandments may seem quaint and unimportant to you. But the moral persuasion of having these and the Christian tradition throughout our history as a country, and important in fights like the 8-hour day and civil rights, and many many other progressive battles, should NOT be so casually thrown away, and with such sophistry.

After all--George Bush has had to swear, and at least pretend that he gives a damn about the Bible. Can you imagine him taking the oath with the "Texas Ranger"/occult salute instead?

Byrd is even now arguing with every moral argument he has--with the tradition, with the Constitution, with the history of the Congress compared to the history of the 3rd Reich. We do NOT want to throw out the foundation for the moral authority of this nation, especially at the same time we are fighting the very devil.

BTW--the 10 Commandments "controversy" is the same idea as the gay marriage business. They use these "wedge issues" to DISTRACT US and DIVIDE US--so that we end up voting against our own interests, while they steal our entire Treasury and engage in war without end.

Welcome to DU!

12. Tweety tonight--Jesus He's become a Nazi for real
About 75% of the time I don' watch him. Tonight I did and what a queer show. You know Chris, the windbag, who cuts everyone (even the icons of either party) off with his need to pontificate...well, tonight he was like a child whimpering in the corner with a telephone interview with the mother of the fuckhead, skinhead who is in prison and thought to be behind the murders of the Chicago Federal judge's husband and parent. He sat there like a scared schoolboy listening to "Mama". That was so out of synic with how he takes on about everyone else. Jesus, this guy has pscyhological problems.......you're a freak Chris, boy. You don't give that much reverence and respect to any ANY figure in American politics. Explain yourself, you sick little pervert.

17. I guess none of you watched the show
Tom Fenton blasted the media for not doing their job, & instead covering silly stories.

They also discussed Bush lies to connect Iraq with 9/11 & how the press failed the country.

And he talked about the lack of coverage of terrorism, before 9/11 because the media was too busy doing daily reports of shark attacks.

Finally, he blasted the media for not covering world affairs...talked about all the countries around the world not having American reporters.

21. Yeah and Matthews dropped the ball with Fenton
where were these questions?

Why mister fenton do you think the media in general doesn't give good coverage to foreign affairs??

Do you think a lack a good coverage by the media of foreign affairs has an adverse affect on the American mentality and voting habits? how so?

which networks are the worst at covering foreign affairs?

If the media is said to be so liberal, why the lack scrutiny towards Bush in the aftermath of 9/11 and in the lead up to the Iraq invasion?
Where was the liberal media?

Who in the media does have good coverage of foreign affairs??

and finally, Mr Fenton, do I a good job covering foreihn affairs...nevermind CBS??
