Afghanistan now produces 87% of the world's opium, and opium trade accounts for 60% of its GDP.

Europeans are angry because these drugs are pouring into the EU and Russia.

When are the Democrats going to bring this up every time that some hack on television starts talking about how the "Bush doctrine" is working in the middle east?

We have created a narco-terror state in Afghanistan.

We are on the verge of creating a theocracy in Iraq to the point where our government is arming insurgents in Southern Iraq.

How great...not.

Ok,they'd have to drop you off in Pakistan or down in the corner of Iran but then you could walk in and enjoy all that the NEW Afganistan has to offer.

2. What democracy? Where?
We're hearing nothing because the MSM is beholden to the Repub party. The only thing we heard about were those goddamn purple fingers in Iraq.

6. You don't recognize that I'm being sarcastic?
Of course it's not "democracy," just like there isn't democracy in this country.

An election does not make a democracy. They just voted, and they voted with "theocracy" in mind.

10. Did recognize the sarcasm
I was just trying to give my take on why we're not hearing about what is really going on -- the MSM.
I would love to see more posting such as yours to show people that the voting was a charade.

4. Well, That's Democracy in action!! If they hold a vote to sell drugs
or not.....they would vote drugs as their major export. It has been since biblical times. The old Persian Empire traded it to the far east and middle east.

7. It hasn't made a scintilla of difference.
Before war: Country controlled by warlords.
After war: Country bombed into oblivion and controlled by warlords.
Yea, that was worth it.

After we toppled the taliban and took control of things there, opium production skyrocketed.

That's the point I'm making.

The Taliban had actually banned its production in 2001, so opium production had gone down, although they were still trading it.

Now, under our watch, Afghanistan had the largest opium production in the history of the planet in 2004.

That's some democracy, especially when the local narco-terrorists were paying the Afghans to vote for local warlords.

11. Interesting comment about opium and Afghanistan from M. Ruppert.
He pointed out that the CIA is known to use these drugs to pay for their black operations. They launder the drug money through Wall Street. The Taliban cut off the funding. Notice how the stock market collapsed after that. May have been a coincidence, but an interesting theory. Now drugs are back up and so is the stock market. The question is, which black ops is our government doing with all that drug money.
