Enron movie set to premiere in Houston

An invitation-only crowd at a theater just miles from the former headquarters of Enron Corp. will be among the first to view a documentary about the one-time energy giant's fall from grace.

The film, "Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room," debuted at film festivals. But it will premiere April 20 for an invitation-only crowd in River Oaks, the glitzy Houston neighborhood where many of Enron's top executives live.

The film, based on a book by the same name, will open to the public in Houston two days later and be available in other top 20 markets nationwide about a week after that.

The 110-minute film focuses on Enron's former chairman, Kenneth Lay, and ex-chief executive Jeffrey Skilling. Both men have said they are innocent of multiple felony charges related to the company's downward spiral.
