about to post this on the blog
Ah yes we have had multiple people in the media now calling the Shiavo affair a disaster for the GOP. For any observer it looks though as they are protesting too much. They have enabled much of this, by playing this story 24\7/ They are doing what they are being told, prepare the way for the second phase in this attack on the Judiciary.

So lets start calling them what they are: Cynical power mongers reaching for as much centralized power as they can. What they want is a one party state. Some among them want a Christian Theocracy. So it is time some of us ask the obvious question: Why do they hate this country so much? Why do they hate th Enlightenment principles under which this country was founded? Why ... do they hate us for our freedoms?

Yes they do, this is now clear. They hate our freedom to reproduce as well as we may please. They hate our freedoms to worship as well as we may please. They hate our freedom not to worship, for those who choose not to. They hate our freedom from government in the most personal of decisions. They want to control all that you and I do. They intend to create a Fascist state where workers are kept barely on the edge of subsistence, for that will only increase corporate profits.

Ok, that is dandy, so now lets ask the other question. Have our Corporatist fascists thought what happens when American Workers CANNOT afford to buy their crap? What happens when our consumption goes down because we have to eat, and quite frankly that flat screen TV is out of reach? In other words, what happens to OUR ECONOMY when the true engine no longer works. Yes this economy relies on consumption, but if we are unemployed or under employed, we will not be able to afford all this crap. It is then that the short term, quarter driven, profit driven, corporatist logic fails. It is then that the Cheap Labor Conservatives will find themselves surrounded by the poor and the destitute, who will have to choose between food and shelter or that shiny new bauble.

We also know that they want to destroy the New Deal and the Social Contract, for they do not believe in helping others. Nor do they believe in promises and they have no honor. That is why their words are empty, and they will continue to press on us.

So I ask, how long until the people will wake up and realize that voting for republicans is like voting to be gang raped, and for the rapist to never face the consequences.

1. The people will awake when...
... they realize they are being played like a lynch-mob by certain leaders.

Whitewater? Lynch-mob.

9/11? Lynch-mob.

Iraq? Another lynch-mob mentality fostered by certain leaders.
