Kerry continues to pull ahead in NH- 34% in new poll
http://www.boston.com/news/politics/debates/articles/2004/01/23/democrats_soften_tone/

<snip>

According to the latest Boston Globe/WBZ tracking results, Kerry won 34 percent of voters surveyed, 3 percentage points higher than the day before. Dean dropped 2 points, to 19 percent, as did retired Army General Wesley K. Clark, to 14 percent.

Senator John Edwards held steady at 11 percent. But the North Carolina senator, who credits his positive campaign in Iowa with propelling him unexpectedly into second place, had the second-best favorability rating, after Kerry, and the survey indicated that late-deciders and voters moving away from Dean are moving toward Edwards.

Eleven percent of those surveyed said they had moved away from Dean in the last two weeks, a troubling sign for a candidate who also saw his support erode in the final hours before the Iowa caucuses.

2. another new poll
Another updated tracking poll was released already as well, the Suffolk University Daily Tracking Poll. According to the writeup, "Of the top three candidates, Wesley Clark was the only candidate to improve his numbers over the last 24 hours. Clark's rolling average climbed to 19% from 17% a day ago. "

Full information for it can be found at:
http://www.suffolk.edu/suprc/pres/jan23_04/update.html

This is turning out to be another great contest, following in Iowa's footsteps. Now I just hope the media drops this rediculous Michael Moore garbage, as well as the over-reported Dean speech. If I see that speech one more time I think I'm going to puke, get over it already media, he did nothing wrong!!

Anyways, just wanted to post that link; I'm looking forward to an exciting few more days of campaigning in NH!

- Zach

4. Congratulations to Senator Kerry
He has also received the backing of the grocery workers union in Michigan w/34K workers after Gephardt dropped out. Kerry MeetUps and forums are surging. MeetUp increased 7,800 for Kerry from Tuesday to Thursday.

12. ok, so edward's may push ahead again and have
another boost at the last minute in NH, and he also has a good chance of taking the south. My question is this, will the fact that he has missed 90% of the votes in the Senate for 2003 hurt him? I mean I have always liked Edwards but his record keeps me from voting for him.

(sorry about posting this in this thread, but I'm not allowed to start a new one yet)

15. Welcome dontstopthere!
...Senators always miss a lot of votes when they run for President.

I believe he has voted more often than Kerry, Lieberman, and Gephardt.

16. O.K.,
17 more points and finally a candidate will have achieved the elusive 51% majority and we can call it a day and concentrate on Bush. It's a nice fantasy at least-:eyes: :bounce:   :grouphug: :tinfoilhat: :P

18. Our nominee will not be chosen from the NH primary necessarily....
When they finish ahead in SC, AZ, OK, NM, TN, and VA....then we'll have a pretty goood idea who our nominee is going to be. Still too early to say, no matter who wins NH.

... easy come, easy go. If Kerry wins NH as well, he may make it in the race until the Democratic convention.

26. Clark's done? Like Kerry was done a few weeks ago? Why don't
we wait and see what the voters say over the next few weeks before pronouncing candidacies dead. There are a lot of undecideds and this race is wide open still.

25. i can't believe what i'm hearing
why does everyone just assume that Dean and Clark are done? has anyone learned anything from Iowa? Kerry was done and Edwards had been done from the beginning. Now they are the race is "between Kerry and Edwards" - why don't we all just admit that we really need to have some primaries before we can decide who is done?

I mean there are probably some people that assume that Bush is already going to win next time...but I wouldn't dare called the Democrats "done"
