An exclusive 10News, Survey USA poll shows Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry (news - web sites) with a 5-point lead over Howard Dean (news - web sites).
Thirty-one percent of Californians who described themselves as Democrats certain to vote in March picked Kerry. Dean got 26 percent.
Former Gen. Wesley Clark (news - web sites) was third in the poll with 14 percent and Sen. John Edwards (news - web sites) was fourth with 12 percent.
The rest of the field got 11 percent of the vote, and 5 percent of Californians polled said they are undecided.
Only Californians who described themselves as Democrats certain to vote were allowed to take part in the poll.
