Kucinich: What Troops?
"Some of my fellow candidates have suggested that we need more troops in Iraq before we can have fewer," said Kucinich. "But what troops do they have in mind? Our forces are stretched thin. Soldiers are being denied the right to return home upon completion of their terms of service. Where will the additional troops come from? Another bomb went off yesterday that the AP called 'an apparent attack on supporters of the U.S.-backed government.' We will never have enough troops to defend a U.S.-backed government against all the Iraqis who oppose any U.S.-backed government. The sooner we learn that the better - the better for all of our sons and daughters. It is worth remembering that Gen. Clark, Sen. Kerry, and Gov. Dean have all advocated requiring 18-year-old women to register for the draft along with 18-year-old men."

1. Why is it
that the only guy NOT playing the "electability game" is also the only guy who makes real sense?

2. Because the closer you are to "electibility" the stupider you have to be..
so the indifferent, uninformed Middle will "accept" your views.

3. This is so awful
I have draft-age siblings and friends.

I hope more people wake up to the danger of sticking with the status quo.

4. They will when the transfer tubes really start coming in
but they'll blame something other than their own stupidity.

5. Germany

Really, the Russians aren't going to storm Berlin anytime soon. We really don't need those servicemen there anymore. Europe can take care of itself.

7. yeah but now it's about using the infrastructure of the bases there
I grew up there on those bases and there are huge hospitals, airports, and the like. They now use them as bases to fly missions etc. to middle east and environs.

It's nice that he's on the right side of all the issues.
