Also, his favorable rating continues to go up.

Across the board, his numbers are surging. I have no idea how historically accurate the globe has been.

5. Clark's actually winning on the terrorism/Iraq question
Who is best on terrorism/Iraq:

Clark 32
Kerry 28
Dean 9
Edwards 7

But the determinant Q: Who can beat Bush? has Kerry with 42%, and I actully think that will be his final number.

3. Lousy poll
400 likely voters and +- 5% which is high.

the Globe is a Boston Kerry paper.

the Boston Herald is a Faux paper.

the only poll that matters is Tuesday.

6. it's important because it's a two day poll
with Thursday and Friday data.

It means Dean got zero bounce from his media damage tour.

8. Uhhh...to begin with, his "media damage tour" was LAST NIGHT.
Secondly, most people didn't even hear about it until this morning or tonight.

You need to wait until Sunday, my friend.

4. Dean's favorability ratings have gone up 11% just today
Edited on Sat Jan-24-04 12:19 AM by BullGooseLoony
The last poll I saw today had his favorability at 34%...he's at 45% now. That's a good indication.

On edit: this poll gives different numbers for Dean's favorability over the last few days, though.

13. Jesus, Dean can finish fourth
His numbers are surely in freefall now. I mean Dean is tied with Clark at 15% and Edwards is right behind with 12%.

If Dean finishes third or fourth can anyone see him survive?

I think he'll have a problem surviving if he finishes a distant second.

15. 20 points seems a little out of whack
most of the other polls have it under ten, with either Clark or Dean in second. But other than that, the rankings seem to track. The "decided in the last week" numbers are interesting too. And it looks like the "hit job" on Clark in the debate worked a bit, and that Dean is slowly rehabilitating himself too.

Favorable/Unfavorable
Candidate..Now...Wed/Thur..Tues/Wed..Mon/Tues..Sun/Mon..Sat/Sun..Fri/Sat
Kerry.......76/12....73/11.......69/14.......68/14.......62/16......57/20......58/21
Edwards...59/15....58/12.......58/11.......57/13.......55/13......51/14......51/14
Clark........55/18....56/15.......58/15.......64/14.......62/14......64/13......69/9
Dean........45/35....44/34.......49/31.......56/25.......60/22......61/20......63/20

18. Agrees with ARG
Beyond Ballot Preference - January 23, 2004

Today's tracking gives some hints about debate performance on Thursday and the impact of Howard Dean's Primetime interview. The trends suggest that (1) Howard Dean's slide in ballot preference has stopped (Dean's 3-day favorable has increased to 35% from 31% and his unfavorable has decreased to 37% from 42%), (2) Wesley Clark has dropped to his lowest single-day ballot preference since January 4, and (3) John Kerry and John Edwards continue to gain support (Kerry began his upward trend on January 15). As Kerry's lead continues to grow, Clark, Dean, and Edwards are battling for second place, but remain 20 percentage points behind Kerry. Ballot preference for Joe Lieberman remains in the single digits.
