Why Dean lost in Iowa...
Edited on Sat Jan-24-04 03:16 AM by Melodybe
I have been thinking about this a lot and i think that it is a combination of things.

First and by far the most damaging was the "Dean Tapes". Iowans were show the segment of Dean saying the caususes were silly every night on the local news until the caucuses. Of course they did not put them in context, the truth of his statement was that the people with money, their own or from special interests, could afford the advertise and because of this the people really get no decision for who in who is running. This is very true.

Second was an over kill with the perfect stormers in combination with the Club for Growth ad, calling Dean supporters a leftist freak show. I honestly think that Iowans were threatened by all those youngsters coming into their state.

Thrid was the negative campaigning done by both Gep. and Dean.

Forth would have to be the fact that Dean had yet to sit down in a nationally televised interview. Iowans didn't really know too much about him and in combination with the other factors they were turned off by Dean.

It really sickens me that Dean has been so hurt by the media, they are terrified by the man and have attacked him at every oportunity.

The main reason that I think that Dean can beat Bush, all of his money has come from people like me. Bush owes his friends, Dean owes the American people.

4. Another possibility is that Iowans are a lot smarter
than you give them credit for.
