Dean on the rebound - "he's got clarity and honesty and heart."
"He's solid rock-solid," Rose said. "I liked it that he put the deficit as one of his top issues."

Mona Brooks agreed, "he's got clarity and honesty and heart."

"He doesn't have that filter," the man next to her said, "that tells politicians to say whatever it takes to get elected. I hope he never gets it. That filter keeps you away from the grassroots."

"And the truth!" Mona chimed in.

Kathy (Kathy in NH on the blog) stopped me to say hello, and to tell the blog that "we're resurgent today!"

It's going to be hard -- as Dean said tonight in Keene, "maybe one of the reasons Washington is giving us such a hard time is that we're not beholden to them. The only thing I'm beholden to is the American people."

1. That should really become a theme for him--it's right on target.

Let's face it. Dean is toast. He blew it. Media blew him away even more. No way now he can win this thing. 4th in New Hampshire.

8. Not dissapointed, I just did nor loose touch with reality. Dean does have
a lot of loyal supporters but in the end the majority of democrats will figure (actually thay already did) that there is no way in hell he can take Bush in November.

4. Dean is not on a rebound...
He has nothing to rebound from. IMO Kerry is going to win big in NH, but come Feb 3rd he is going to fall flat on his face & drop in numbers that never even come close to Deans drop.

11. You totally misunderstood my post, cthrumatrix
This was noth but a compliment to Dean. I am sorry you took it any other way. My point was to show where Kerry is headed.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

7. Yep, the tides are turning...
membership is up and so are donations. You can't keep a good man down, not even the corporate whore media outlets can wreck the campaign of a solid candidate and a truly decent man. Go Dean!!!

10. That's what I am trying to figure out... How can it possible, in a country
where IMAGE is everything, that this guy has remotly a chance to win this presidency? The media blew him away, yes, but he did it to himself. He did not think, just acted. Sorry but that's not presidential enough. He will loose all those undecided vote because they will believe the media and be scared of him. So, this is why he is toast. It maybe sad, but it's reality.

12. he has something the media doesn't like...it's called "his base" of people
that know Dr Dean and his record, that know him on the issues he has been speaking about...that know him for healthcare and balancing budgets in VT.

It's called a smear...people who know Dr Dean and are learning can see through the slam.

Did he have a media fallback...absolutely...and it showed in the immediate polls. He cam out and accpeted his "passionate yell at pep rally" and he is back on his issues.

He has an outstanding message of hope vs washington insiders and politics of the past.

16. Yes, I know all that, but it doesn't change the fact that he is now
virtually unelectable. It's not his followers that are gonna put him in office. Dean can't be sold to the undecided... Image over substance, it's the sad thruth.

13. Yeah, yeah... Dean is not "presidential"
Edited on Sat Jan-24-04 09:37 AM by nomaco-10
Maybe he could declare an illegal and immoral war on Montana and throw up on some foreign dignitary, would that make him more presidential for you?

15. they won't talk about issues..I wonder why...I guess balancing the budget
is an option for experience..I guess being a doctor and delivering health care to a state for years doesn't count.

21. I keep hearing over 600,000 people
Do you honestly believe this number? I mean honestly? I saw no indication of any of this in Iowa where dean showed a clear lead in all the polls.

Numbers are worth only the paper their printed on.

But you keep the faith, look for dean in third place again. And then look for dean to reinvent himself once again.

And then there were none!
