1. OK, all this yick yacking is making me SICK! If America were really |
|
listening it would be awesome.
AMERICA is not listening. They are drunk from kool-aid.
So, pull the Nuke already Frist. You think that you won't have to in the end or is it that you think America will forgive you.
How much you wanna bet you're gonna LOSE in the end. You and your evil friends will lose Mr. Frist!

4. What is this roll call vote for? |
|
Just to see how many Senators are around? The Sgt. at Arms called for it.

7. Voting to instruct Sergeant-at-Arms to compel attendance. |
|
If passed, the Sergeant-at-Arms can compel, using force if necessary, all Senators to be in attendance. Bob Packwood was literally carried into the Senate chambers feet-first by the Capitol Hill police in 1988.

this could get interesting?
Edit: Is there a limit to the total number of those voting or a percentage of the Senate and surely there is a strict time limit? Thanks

This isn't where they're going to make a stand. If you listen, you'll hear Democratic Senators votin "Aye."
Frist wants to "test the waters" tonight by calling for a vote to see what the Yea/Nay count is. To do that, he wants 100% attendance. I'm guessing we might see a couple of "interesting" votes tonight - perhaps even a Democrat defection. I think Reid and the Democrats are almost as interested in the "test vote" as the Fristians.
The cloture motion is scheduled for noon tomorrow. That's probably when we'll see Cheney or Stevens presiding in the Senate.

Frist and Reid were talking and then Frist went to the podium and called for this thing.

they wouldn't have bothered with the drama of the cots being brought it, which was purely for the cameras. Likely this is just a wearing 'em down tactic. Compel everyone to come to the floor so they aren't resting elsewhere or accomplishing anything useful.

and they took a recess? They are trying to miss the 6 pm newscasts on the east coast?

Pep talk? It wouldn't be surprising if they did. The Pubs might want to do it before Reid's message tonight changes any minds.

23. How many white haired GOP Senators want to be Rove's Sissy Boy? |
|
Not too many is my guess. And yet this is what the WH is demanding of them--on National TV no less. John McCain and few good men are allowed to get away with being Real Men, but there is only room on the life boat for about 5 GOPers. Too many and the Nuclear Option sinks.
What are the Sons of Barry Goldwater to do? Decisions, decisions. Ill bet the Dems are glad that they are Dems right now. Their decision is SOO easy in comparision.
