GOP Aide: "A lot of Republicans are crying in their martinis." |
|
Which causes me great joy. This in response to the prospect of facing Kerry in the general election. Link: http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/2004/la-na-gop24jan24,1,4484037.story?coll=la-center-elect2004

1. I totally feel they're scared of BOTH Kerry and Edwards |
|
And I *KNOW* they were just as upset as some Democrats were that Dean fell in the polls and in Iowa.

5. Stupid GOP aide remark |
|
"A lot of Republicans are crying in their martinis," the GOP aide said.
God forbid, they might be crying in their beer.

2. Too bad the LATimes Site sucks |
|
1. They require registration to view articles. 2. They require WAY too much personal information. 3. They use an email confirmation.
Not a chance I'm goving them any REAL info, and it's just not worth it to me to go through the hassles of setting up a dummy account for them. When will these sites learn that privacy is important ??

12. Couldn't register there either |
|
apparently I'm registered at some other LA Times related site and would I please log in with that registration. :wtf: God only knows which one it is.
Re: all that personal info. No way I'm giving them my telephone #, and how much money I make. The NYTimes asks for much less. :eyes:

Other Republican strategists, speaking unofficially, said some Democrats would likely pose bigger challenges than others.
"Looking at it right now, I'd worry about a Kerry-Clark ticket or a Kerry-Edwards ticket," said GOP pollster Ed Goeas, referring to retired Army Gen. Wesley K. Clark and North Carolina Sen. John Edwards as potential vice presidential nominees. "I think Kerry-Edwards is about as tough as they could get. I still think Bush would win, but that might be the best in this field."
(snip)
"I'd be more afraid of Kerry," said Frank Luntz, who was an advisor to Newt Gingrich when the Georgia Republican served as House speaker. "They will say he's more liberal than Ted Kennedy, but he doesn't come across that way. His war record and the fact that he was a former prosecutor get a positive response."
"He gets high numbers saying he is someone they would trust in time of war," Luntz said. "That's Bush's strength. And you don't want an opponent who's capable of coming at your strength."

<sarcasm>Sure they are worried about Kerry. Sure they are. </sarcasm>
The Republicans have attacked Clark repeatedly. That's how you know who makes them "cry in their martinis."
Now Republicans are building up Kerry. What does that really say?

And a few nights ago Lieberman lauded himself as the "Democrat Bush most fears.... Bush said so HIMSELF!"

9. As stated in the other thread: why are you listening to a Puke?? |
|
Do you think they're going to tell you what they ACTUALLY think at any point? NO...it's disinformation, and no one at DU should buy into it.

14. You don't really think they want Dean do you? |
|
They wouldn't have gone to such lengths to make him look bad if that were the case....The "scream" may turn around and be a rallying cry.
As a new supporter told me last night. "I realized that they aren't really trying to stop Dean, they are trying to stop us". (This was a discussion about corporations vs the individual.)
