LTTE in today's St. Pete Times

If it's good enough for California ...

I was pleased to see that the good government advocates who are fighting for a fairer redistricting process have a new partner in their fight - Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, that is as long as the fair redistricting occurs in California, not Florida.

After years of opposing efforts to take the politics out of the redistricting process in Florida, Gov. Bush thinks the idea is good enough for Californians. He is raising money from Florida conservatives to help Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's independent redistricting commission initiative in California.

We can only hope that after Gov. Bush finishes raising money to help give California voters better access to their government, he will take the time to support the efforts of thousands of Floridians to place a similar independent commission initiative on the ballot here in Florida.

-- Anne Gannon, state representative, vice chair, Florida
Committee for Fair Representation, Delray Beach

.....

I have seen a number of LTTE talking about Jebbie fighting with Arnold for this is Californa.... when this goes on the ballot in Florida what is he going to say.....
