1. There go John Dean's top three guesses too.
He was leaning towards Buchannan.

2. I am feeling pretty vindicated
since I said that none of the choices (Rehnquist, Daddy Bush, Buchanan, Ford and so on) were as likely as somebody we never heard of, and how many of us heard of Felt?

Now if he'll only spill the beans on who shot JFK...

3. Warpy, I'd have agreed with you till tweety told me different
funny they scratched this quote from an earlier msnbc report.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8048097/

Nora O’Donnell: Chris, are you stunned? This is exciting.

Chris Matthews: No, I am not stunned. I did a book called 'Kennedy and Nixon' I worked on for years and Mark Felt has always been the leading suspect because he was number two in the FBI and the FBI has done a tremendous job investigating the Watergate break-in and the cover up. ....

And so clearly, this guy was a dead center, main target candidate for Deep Throat.

4. somehow I don't remember the tweets yammering on this guy
I don't doubt tweety mentioned him in his book. But if he was so 'on top' of the list, how come you could hear a collective "HUH??!!" when they announced it?

here's link to a short clip with a guy who picked it. Of course we're all familar with Ronald Kessler, tweety had him on all the time talking about his sure fire pick. :-)
