Talking Point against Jeb Bush in 2008: The Blue Tarp facts |
|
1- Hurricanes rip up thousands (or millions) of Florida homes. Typically the roof was damaged, resulting in..duh..leaks.
2- Yes, there were labor shortages and material shortages for a while.
3- Housing is a basic need of Floridians.
4- As of May 31st, 2005, SOME Floridians still have blue tarps covering their roofs. This is atrocious.
5- If Jeb Bush had busted his ass to get all Florida homes repaired by now, yes, it's conceivable that not 100% of damaged homes would be fixed by now. But..it'd be a lot lower number.
Use this against Jeb in '08.

2. My problem with Slobberin' Jeb is -- |
|
-- the soiled origins of his campaign financing when he ran for governor, the anti-intellectual stance he carves out to appeal to the lowest common denominator in Florida's west, north and I-10 corridor regions, his craven support of cretinous social programs to bolster far-right support, his hackneyed, self-important public pronouncements, the over-the-top leveraging of the Terri Schiavo incident, & his questionable role in his brother's "victory" in 2000 over Gore-Lieberman.

5. good to bump into you, also. |

I do believe that, at the bare minimum, that perhaps Jeb could have helped head up a private fund-raising effort to roof all Floridians. That would have proven to me, and to other voters, that maybe he does give a shit. Or just a consummate politician.

6. Yes, agreed. & the damn mainstream media -- in Florida especially -- |
|
-- kept reporting how "the Bush brothers" were swift and merciful in getting funds to the storm victims, etc.
How pukey.
I heard both channel 10 and channel 8 in Tampa/St. Petersburg say that, repeatedly.
I get the strong, strong feeling that Jeb likes his fatcat donor Rethugs and little else.
