What was Malloy talking about last night in regards to September?
I didn't catch all of it, but he was saying about a three day event in DC which should rock our country to it's foundation. Who is sponsoring this massive protest? I am so there it isn't even funny. Let's shut down our nation's capitol and every state capitol as well.

1. He was just saying that he thought this might be the "last" major protest
And that one of three things would happen:

1) This massive 3-day protest rocks the entire nation to its foundation and is the catalyst for massive change.

2) After this protest, all other protests like it will be deemed "illegal".

3) This protest will cause the invocation of martial law.

And he sounds like he's gonna be there too. Wish I could. :(

Sept. 24-26: End the War on Iraq! Massive Mobilization in Washington, D.C.
http://www.unitedforpeace.org/article.php?id=2854

Three Days of Action for Peace and Justice in Washington, D.C.

END THE WAR ON IRAQ - BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW!
Leave no bases behind - End the corporate occupation of Iraq
Stop bankrupting our communities - No military recruitment in our schools

Sat., 9/24 - Massive March, Rally & Festival
Sun., 9/25 - Interfaith Service, Grassroots Training
Mon., 9/26 - Lobby Day, Mass Nonviolent Direct Action and Civil Disobedience

It's time to hold all pro-war politicians accountable for the deaths, the destruction, the lies, and the toll on our communities from the illegal and immoral Iraq war! Join United for Peace and Justice in Washington, D.C. for three massive days of action against the war: a major march, rally, and festival on Saturday, September 24; an interfaith religious service and day of grassroots trainings on Sunday, September 25; and a large-scale grassroots lobbying day and mass nonviolent direct action and civil disobedience on Monday, September 26.

From every corner of this country, people will travel to Washington to bring our demands directly to the policymakers responsible for this unjust war. These three days of actions will send a clear message to the White House and Congress: The Iraq war must end. It's time to bring all the troops home, leaving no U.S. military bases behind, and to stop the corporate theft of Iraq's resources. Instead of draining our national treasury for endless war, we demand that our tax dollars be used to repair the damage done to Iraq and to fund services in our communities. We call for an immediate end to our government's assault on immigrants, the unethical pressures on our young people to join the military, and the undermining of democracy through relentless attacks on everyone's basic rights. |

7. I wish they'd march for one reason - IMPEACHMENT
Edited on Wed Jun-01-05 11:41 AM by blm
That covers every other issue.

I also wish they had some sense of the impact of doing it on the birthday of the Constitution and what is known as Citizenship Day.

8. Oh, you must have a bunch of secret congressmen in your pocket
Because, unless you do, there is a snowball's chance in hell of impeachment.

Why is it that the folks screaming "impeach" can't count?

1. Patriot Act sunset provisions.
2. Electronic Voting.
3. Elect a shitload of Democrats to the House and the Senate.

The above must happen before there is any hope if impeachment. Focus, people.

9. The point is alot of American citizens believe Bush DESERVES impeachment
and THAT becomes the story and whatever GOP congressman lines up to protect Bush from the investigation is lining up against the American citizen and their sworn constitutional duty to impeach Bush for crimes of office.

10. Okay. I agree with your message subject line.
The rest is wishful thinking, unless we undertake and follow through on the points I outlined. Standing around in our current political climate shouting "impeach" accomplishes nothing. As it is, the "GOP congressman" who "lines up to protect Bush" will be shown by the corporate media as the voice of truth, and the impassioned opposition shouting "impeach" will be made to look like wild-eyed zealots. Take a look at the quotes in my signature.

There is a lot of work to be done before impeachment can even be dreamed about.
