How long now has it been that the government has been able to detain US citizens under the "persons of interest" banner, without telling their families where they are, without access to a lawyer, and without charging them with anything?
How long have we suspended habeas corpus now?
In high school I was taught about how Lincoln and Davis suspended habeas corpus during the Civil War.
Why is everyone silent about it now?
I mean, I know it's not "officially" suspended in that it's still offered to the majority of citizens, but WHY do we allow the government to do it to some people? Where is the media? Where are the concerned citizenry?

1. Over 100 municipalities have |

passed resolutions condemning the "patriot act"...the media won't touch it since they love repressing any dissent from the corporatist policies of the RW.
There you have it.
No press left to report on what the government is doing.
