Kerry Promises to raise UK Memo questions!!! Slams media!!!
Edited on Thu Jun-02-05 02:03 PM by Dr Fate
"When I go back (to Washington) on Monday, I am going to raise the issue," he said of the memo, which has not been disputed by either the British or American governments. "I think it's a stunning, unbelievably simple and understandable statement of the truth and a profoundly important document that raises stunning issues here at home. And it's amazing to me the way it escaped major media discussion. It's not being missed on the Internet, I can tell you that."

This is great news- it is important to contact Kerry and thank him for getting our back on this.

Thank you DU- your letters & phone calls surely helped.

Now to get Dean and the other top DEMs on this!!!

5. I want to see Kerry fight.
Edited on Thu Jun-02-05 01:57 PM by Dr Fate
That was part of my frustration that so many misunderstood- I LIKE Kerry and a WANT to see him fight.

I hope Kerry's promise to look into this will encourage others to speak out too.

'cause I knew you'd be happy.

I've posted it at DailyKos as well. Over 300 responses so far and recommended. So the word is getting out over there too.

25. I HATE DAILY KOS
A good half of the posts are BASHING him. One even told him to shut up because he doesn't want Kerry in 2008. Another said he was jumping on the bandwagon. What fucking bandwagon? Conyers? Is THAT the bandwagon?!

FOR FUCK'S SAKE, FUCK 2008, YOU FUCKING FUCKS.

Ahem, I'm better now.

27. We need to support DEMs when they respond to us.
And "bash" then when they do not.

I'm with holding all criticism of Kerry on this unless he breaks his promise.

This is not about the primaries for me.

30. Nor should it be
The only monkey in my wrench is if he meant he was going to bring it up to his collegues, which wouldn't make much sense, as I'm sure they know about it.

Is there any way to interpret his words as anything BUT a promise to bring this up in public? I'm assuming the Senate floor. We shall see.

There are people there every bit as ideologically rigid, blind, and hateful as at Free Republic.

Most of the time, we give credit where credit is due, except for a few contrarians. Kos, on the other hand, insists on pursuing his own self-aggrandizing agenda. God I hate that website.

than others. They will cover him.

Kerry has to say what he should have said last July: he voted for the war because he was fed a lot of bullshit by the administration. He has to say the words: Bush Lied.

the media ignores him on a regular basis, PERIOD.

Sorry, but this is being covered on Air America, but I will bet to you, not on NBC nightly, or for that matter on Meet the Press, and if they do.. they will do this in such a way to invalidate this

I mean CNN coverage was... A London Tabloid, they called the paper that leaked the story a TABLOID, so I have not much hope that Kerry or anybody else can get the Soppranos to actually cover teh story... this is the truth, the corporations CANNOT AFFORD to have georgie impeached, or even to have the word impeachment raised...

"...so we assumed it was not an issue."

I hope you are wrong- I'll say this, Kerry will need to do more than just mention it once- he needs to go on TV shows and newspaper interviews and talk about it.

john kerry would not support anything like this unless it was rapidly approaching critical mass.

The man did run a prosecutor's office and he was known for never moving forward with a case unless he had the evidence required to win.

24. Let's help Kerry
On several sites there is a daily to do list to get the word out.

This is where I get my info.
http://shakespearessister.blogspot.com/
Go down halfway to where it says DSM.
Everyday they post 3 MSM sites to email or call.

Also Kerry has this on his site
to send what he calls an Urgent Gram to Frist.
I sent one to Frist telling him I want an explanation to this memo.
http://www.johnkerry.com/action/principle/
Maybe we can send enough to Frist to get him a little nervous:nopity:

Edited on Thu Jun-02-05 02:56 PM by paineinthearse
na na na na na !!!!

Dr. Fate had a post that challenged Dean and Kerry to show some leadership on this issue. Maybe Kerry read our thoughts. Maybe Kerry read some of our messaged to him.

Whatever was the cause, I'm pleased that my junior senator has sniffed the political winds of change and finally come aboard.

There's a guy over at DailyKos accusing Kerry of jumping on the bandwagon. What freakin' bandwagon? Conyers was all by his lonsome, and radioactive as usual. Now he's not going to be alone.

Can we admit that Kerry is near the front on this, just behind Conyers, politician-wise? He may effect that change, but I don't see him following it.

No, me neither. He is a follower. The leaders on the Dem left are, imho, John Conyers, Henry Waxman, Louise Slaughter, Dennis Kucinich, Lynn Woolsey, Bernie Sanders (ok, honerable Dem), Jim McDermott, Jim McGovern, Marty Meehan (come to think of it, the Mass house delegation), the CBC, the progressive caucus.

Not one Senator has yet to sign on. Even Barbara Boxes. Maybe it is a Senate thing?

He and several other Congressmen should march this down to a major outlet and demand they cover it.

Maybe my innocence (or stupidity) is showing. But what will happen if it doesn't hit the media, regardless of how much Congress answers his questions.
