At least FT right now because their fucked up tax policies put me out of a job. After 12 years of stellar evaluations and three promotions, out on my ass because of budget cuts. And now we're treading water and keeping up with COBRA payments would have really screwed me by now if I didn't have help. And, I am awaiting word on a possible surgery and have to put my job search on hold, which makes keeping up with COBRA ($519 a month) even more important.

I've worked two or three jobs my entire life, but, yeah, right, I'm just lazy. I even opted to keep my PT job even though it drastically reduces the unemployment benefits I'm eligible for. I would love for one of those RW assholes to have walked a mile in my shoes.

In fact, most of the "non-workers" I've encountered are Repukes - they think something's owed to them so they milk the system for everything they can, and do as little as possible to contribute to society.

As usual, Rush Limpballs is projecting the negative image of the lazy, whining, Repuke with the over-inflated sense of self-importance onto the opposing party again.

I'm a stay-at-home mom and don't work per se, and I happen to almost always vote for Democrat Party candidates! (The "almost" is a qualifier for the fact that I voted within the Republican ticket in the 2000 Presidential primaries in order to add to McCain's vote count over Bush. Didn't help, obviously!)

See, I happen to vote with my conscience, and the candidate whose platform best supports my sense of truly family centered and American values is the one who wins my vote. And that vote has somehow always gone to Democrat Party candidates... Of course, what Mr. Limbaugh doesn't realize is that all that free time I have as a "non-worker" could easily be spent volunteering for a political cause that he likely doesn't agree with. Kinda funny to me how the revered position for a woman, according to conservatives - woman in the home with the babies, actually helps put me in a position to have extra time to support those causes he'd likely vehemently hate. I just love irony sometimes!

Unfortunately, my extra time is rather short of late since the kid is out of school and having some health issues (not life threatening) that have been in need of intensive attention. He's due for his second surgery in one month a week from Monday. Grr, Argh! At least we have very good insurance, unlike so many of my fellow citizens. :(

But I'm starting to think that once this issue has stabilized (and school is back in session), I will be getting over my intense shyness and contributing to Democratic and Progressive causes in my "red state".... Wish me luck! ;-)
