Dumb question about impeachment |
|
Until now, I didn't even dare dream. So, now that it seems something may be done, I have a dumb question.
How much damage to * can Conyers do without actually winning a vote on articles of impeachment? Can he get any kind of thorough investigation before the repugs shut him down? Or will they vote him down after 10 minutes of debate and that will be that?
I'm not convinced there's any chance the House will impeach * because the repugs don't give a damn about this country. I'd like to think, though, that Conyers can shed some light on the crimes of this "administration."

2. The best we can hope for is getting this stuff in the news |

and getting it into the congressional record.
The worst thing right now would be formal impeachment hearings. The pubbies will NEVER impeach one of their own, no matter what he does, not in the current climate of party and corporations first, to hell with the country. An impeachment that fails now will prevent the subject being brought up if the Dems retake congress in 2006.
Trying to force action before the time is right is always disastrous. I know this because I lived through the 60s.
